So I cracked the water pump it looks like on my 86 3.8. There is a split on the bottom and it's leaking pretty bad. Any ideas on what might have caused that?
P.S. Gotta like waiting over 1 1/2 hours for a tow in this summer heat. =)
It' more like the the shaft seal finally went and it's just leaking out the weep hole in the pump. Regardless, it's new pump time.
Pulled the old pump out and I guess with it being dirty and then leaking it made it looked like it was cracked. It is in fact shot and you can see daylight through the weep hole. Puting in the replacement tomorrow.
