Title: Show us your bird or cooch...
Post by: Thunder Chicken on August 03, 2006, 04:37:14 PM
...or dog, or goldfish. What did you think I meant? Your cars? Something else? Get real, we're talking pets here.

I've got four cats (I know, I'm retarded):

Pic 1) Igor and Murphy. Igor is the big (22 pound) oaf on his back, Murph is the dainty, cranky old thing

Pic 2) Stewart Gilligan Griffin II. This cat is retarded - he lives up to his namesake (Stewie from Family Guy) in that he's always trying to kill something or someone. He's a biggun too, at 18 pounds. With his fur he looks bigger than Igor, and regularly beats the hell out of Igor and Murphy.

Pic 3) Cigarette, the latest addition. She was a stray hanging about at the camp for about a year and a half (in fact this pic was taken at the camp), but since I bought th house I don't spend as much time there anymore and felt bad for her. She's tiny (about six pounds) but takes no shiznit from Stewie or anyone else. She likes to get into the bathtub with me, the crazy thing (bathroom door was only installed a week ago)

And these aren't really pets, but they are in my yard regularly. The eagle I just took the pic a few minutes ago, the turtle was about a month ago.

There's a total of six cats in the house. It was seven up until June 19th, until the one I considered my cat died after 16 1/2 years. 2 of the cats remaining are my fiance's cats, 3 were inherited when my father died, and the last one is a stray that grew really attached to us.

The picture next to my name will have to do for now.

I don't have any pets, but my family has some.
One of my brothers has two dogs, while the other has one dog.
From top to bottom:
1. Max
2. Bacon
3. Samba (Shar-Pei)

They are, quite possibly, the coolest dogs I have ever met.

WOW! That brindle looks like it could be Bosco's sibling! Their facial coloring, and brindle are almost exactly the same color. Even the markings are similar.

Here is a better show of his coloring..
I'm amazed how similar they look. When we got Bosco they said he was a Boxer/Beagle mix, but I've always wondered if he has some Pit in the mixture too.

The girls (mother/daughter).  The calico who's crashed is Sadie and the dilute is Leeloo.  Leeloo's dad was a whackadoo albino Siamese who's eyes shook....she's an odd cat.  Sadie is asleep all the time.

The old man.  Bal, a 14-yr old Shepherd/Collie/Wolf/Chow (about 95#).  He's starting to slow down.  I'm not seeing too many days left for him. He sleeps about 20 hours a day these days...if not more :p

For those of you with older pets that seem to be arthritic.. I recently read an article that said glucosamine supplements will help them with their lack of mobility after a couple weeks. I wish I had thought to try that while my cat was still alive, because he had a lot of problems with arthritis. You may want to consider trying that.

Harly is a German Shepard/Huskey Mix I saved her from the pound. They were getting ready to put her to sleep so I took her home. She is worth her weight in gold. I can't tell you how many times she has chased off people from the house. Ya I don't live in a nice neighborhood.

The other is a dachshund her name is Scooby. Shes 10 years old and annoying. I think she is senile or something. She will just bark for no reason.

I also have 2 cats, no pics because they don't like the camera. They are named Ivy and Lucifur. And a 1 year old Bearded dragon.

We have a Lab, not sure if she's mixed with anything else.  She's one of the best dogs I've ever seen for a family, she starves for attention and wants to play all the time.  You MUST play with her or pet her for a while before she will even eat her food in the morning.  She thinks she's just another one of the family.

She certainly lives up to the retriever name sometimes, one of her favorite things to do when playing is plop a toy down in your lap so you can throw it, then repeat.

Ok, to prove I'm a glutton for punishment I brought home another stray last night. Yesterday was the first day of deer season, and this little shiznit showed up at the camp. She is half starved (you can feel every bone) but very friendly. I fed her a hot dog at the camp (for lack of anything better to feed her), and decided to bring her home. If this was May I'd probably have left her there figuring she could survive, but going into November with a big storm coming tonight I just couldn't do it. She is tentatively named "Olive" (I was thinking about calling her "Pickles" but I already had a cat named Pickles before, and the name didn't suit a black cat. Olives are black, so...)

And without further delay I introduce you to Olive:

Here's Chopper, the friendliest coolest dog you'll ever meet.  :)  I take him everywhere with me, he's great with kids and other small animals.  In fact, he's scared to death of my dad's 15lb rat terrier because he won't play with him.

He's probably seen more of this country than most of you, been on road trips to both oceans and the Gulf of Mexico.  He's been in boats, gone over 150 in a car.  Takes better care of the house than I do.

My brother found him on the side of the road with two of his brothers, sick and hungry.  I took the little guy in and he's been my buddy ever since.  Never shown any aggression at all, loves getting to do fun stuff.  He's a lot of fun.

Holy thread resurrection Batman! I had to add to this since I got my first pet, a cat. His name is Iggy. He's a 1.5 year old 11lb black cat. I got him because my girlfriend's brother in law was going to put him down because he didn't want him anymore.I don't know why. He's a nice cat and doesn't destroy or scratch anything.

Beautiful cat.

As you'll see, I luv a black cat.

Your cat is the same age as my ball o' fur.

Sorry to make a long post, but I got lotsa pics of her.

This is "Midnight Lace" -- and I've had her for a little over a year now.  She was abandoned when she was very tiny and found near the front door of our office building.  Some of our employees thought that I needed someone to take care of.  She got her name because she got to my house around "Midnight" ---- and "Lace" is the name of the style of wheels on my Cadillac Fleetwood.  I had to work a car thing in there somehow.

She was shy when she was a kitten ...

... but then as she grew, she started showing her wilder side ...

... and became more playful ...

... and she likes to show off ...

... and she checks out my new purchases for the Mustang ...

... and now she likes exploring the backyard ...

So this is marm. Short for MARMALADE but we just call him marm. or marmen. or mr. marm. I don't know why. thats just what we call him. He's pretty awesome cat. He's like 9lbs and he's a little over a year old. Oh and I have no idea what kind he is. Just a Grade A mutt. We've had him since he was a 6 week kitten. The two pics are when he was a couple months old and tried to take him to my inlaws house, he does not like riding in cars, and he decided to lay on the dash. Note the 32 on the speedo lol.

My cat rides in the carrier on his way to the vet. He only goes in the car to go to the vet so he doesn't much like the car. Especially since last time he went to the vet he was "fixed".
