Saw these on a new-ish (like 2000-'02) grandma, I mean Grand Marquis today.. thought they looked really good. I've found out that they're 16"x7", 5-by-4.5" bolt pattern.. but the source of info lists what appears to be an incorrect backspacing:

So has anyone researched the possibility of putting these on a Bird/Cougar? I don't know if they'd be my final choice, (plus they're 16", so Cobra brakes are out of the question) but I wouldn't mind something like this. I'm sure there are quite a few wrecked Marqs down here, from all the hurricanes and old people, that might be potential sources.. if the backspacing isn't a problem.
i cant give you much details, other than those should fit the mustang 5-lug swap, other than that, i dont know about the offset/backspacing
That's my favourite OEM wheel. Should I ever do a 5-lug swap there will be a set of those on my car...
I can answer this question.. The offset is WAY wrong. The wheels will sit almost 2" outboard of the factory setup.
However, you CAN buy a set of the same rims, made for 90-92 Lincoln Mark VII's, and they WILL fit, and fit CORRECTLY!

Ed, I kinda thought they'd stick out a bit - are they really that bad? How 'bout if a person a used Mustang rear housing wih Ranger axles and a Mustang k-member with Mustang control arms. Wouldn't that help bring 'em in a bit? I know you can get similar wheels for Lincoln Mark VII's but they're a lot harder to find and I like the deep-dish look
FWIW, I got it from a pretty good source that those basket center wheels are made for Ford by BBS.
I don't think that would work. I actually put a Crown Vic 15" steely on a Mark VII (same offset as the Cougar/Tbird), and literally, if I let the jack down, the tire would stick out past the fender about an inch.
While I don't see any on Ebay right now, Mark VII parts cars are usually pretty easy to find. Usually people get rid of them with the suspension blown up, and nobody knows how to work on them, but us tech savvy guys. :)
Yes, those were manufactured by BBS. Not sure if BBS makes an "aftermarket" version of it though.
