Title: In my hometown!
Post by: matttherat on July 28, 2006, 03:09:33 PM
I was on ebay, just looking at cougars. I found a 1984 that looks pretty good, but I cant trust pictures. Anyway, I was dreaming of my cat looking as good as then when I scrolled up. The Location happens to be the city I live in!

I emailed the guy and told him to call me so I could take a look at it. Theres no telling if I'd be able to get it, but I need something. My cougar I think I have decided is un-salvagable. The frame is rusted soo bad, and even though someone on the forums would sell me a whole body (for about $500 including shipping) I dont know if it is possible to even transfer everything over into it, and if it is thats an awefull lot of work. So I do need a car, but I dont know if I would be mean enough to buy this and actually drive it during the winter.

Wow only 1600 miles! I can't believe he didn't take a pic of the odometer with that kinda claim. That has got to be the cleanest V6 Cougar I've evah sawed.

I just realized it sais 8-cylinder at the top, but it sais 3.8 liter in the description. It does say it was a rebuild, and that is the mileage on the rebuild, so the odometer could say otherwise.

Yeah.  If you're local to the guy, he's probably more willing to give you a solid price.  I saw that car the other night and thought to myself "!  So clean!"  Then I saw that it was a 3.8.  Meh.  Still a very, very  nice car.

Hey, who doesn't like a nice body. :D

Yes, I need a solid body to put everything from my yellow 86' into. I've got rust in my inner fendor, and most likely have rust under my front floors, since it always seems wet there, or traps moisture from my truck mats. My bumber has been hit twice also, so it's starting to get pretty bas all over.
Because of where I live, I'm going to park the 88' XR7 soon after some small fixes, until next spring, since it is 99% rust free.
Not in a big hurry, since I've been spending allot of credit on my cars lately already. I wish the Mach1 would sell, that would free up a little cash.

Or if your close to that age ( 17).
Title: In my hometown!
Post by: Bird351 on July 29, 2006, 12:11:43 PM
No, being close to that age isn't a problem. It's when you can look at a person and say "I'm old enough to be your father" that it becomes a problem. Why? Because I don't wanna be old enough to say things like that to anyone with a grain of truth behind it. :p

Now we wait for Tom to speak up about the ability to say "I'm old enough to be your grandfather" with a grain of truth behind it.. :p

My son will be 18 in January, and I think me and Ric are within 1 year of each others age. Do I feel old, yeah, so, but let's see how you look when your 42. :hick:
