Yes, already experience fish tailing on wet roads and old tires doesn't help either. I avoided the cars on the oncoming lane buthit a sign, no damage to my car except for a few scratches, better than a whole front end.

I usually run something like 20-40 lbs ballast at the most aft station to keep the rear planted better. Which is usually just a decent sized toolbox. It works for me, and you're always ready to freeze your ass off to help somebody or yourself.
I kicked the arse out in my truck countless times last night just trying to get home. It happened a few times just trying to get up a very gradual hill on the freeway. I wasn't even trying to accellerate, just continue at the same speed, of about 50kph. Time to break out the sand bags.
