Ok I have an old turbo coupe rear out of an 88’T/C 5 speed it was supposedly rebuilt right before I got the car. I also have the master cylinder and proportionate valve plan on doing the swap soon. Question a have is I now the rear has 3.55 in it because it came out of a 5 speed and I did turn it. Is it worth putting in 3.73 or should I leave well enough along. I really don’t care about gas mileage since the car is only a weekend worrier. But am I going to see a big difference between the two, dose any one now or have experience between the two. Or any time right ups between the two examples 0-60 ¼ mile.
Is it even worth the money right now for the gears or is it probably right to put it somewhere else on the car.
i would leave it with the 355s..they are so close. if you were to spend the dough on new gears, than step up to some 410s...
I swapped from 355's to 373's seen a small improvement. Than killed the 373 rear (bearings were shot or something), swapped in a 355 rear. It's really hard to tell the difference.
If you already bought a speedo gear for the 355's and don't have a 373 rear laying around than I wouldn't bother.
I did the 3.55 to 3.73 swap in my car and I found an improvement (seat of the pants) in acceleration and also a slight reduction in gas mileage. I'm glad I did mine.

Thanks guys I guess I’ll leave it for now (3.55’s). I think 4.10 might be a little much but I have time to think about it. And thanks to gtbird comment about seat of the pants in acceleration it will always be in the back of my head that maybe I could have more.
