Title: SVP 87 Thunderbird TC Project car
Post by: Thunderstein on July 23, 2006, 02:27:54 AM
I was planning to finish building this car but never found the time....there is no engine or transmission. The car is a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. It is 5 lug with a 3.73 Traction lock 8.8 rear end with Mark VII brakes and new Stillen Metal Matrix brake pads. The front end was converted to SN-95 Brakes(95 GT) and also has new Metal Matrix brake pads. There is no brake booster. The hood is a custom one of a kind hand made metal hood by SVPU using a Mustang SVO center hood section. SVPU would charge someone $1500 just to reproduce this hood...there is that much time in it not to mention the cost of the SVO hood to do it. The car does not come with the wheels pictured, it has the 16" waffle stars on it. The custom front chin spoiler is not attached but does come with the car (It was removed for clearance to get the engine hoist under the car. The car comes with an original V8 wiring harness for a Tbird and a new Master Cylinder. It has had a running V8 in it. The car is black with black interior...interior needs a headliner and the dash has cracks but is otherwise pretty nice. The car is set up for a 5 speed.

If you want to build the BADDEST looking Turbo Coupe on the planet...this is the car for you....nobody will have this look with this hood. The car is located near Birmingham Alabama and is a rust free Alabama car.

The car looked SICK with both wheels pictured but remember....these wheels are NOT included! You get waffle stars, NO engine or trans or booster. New Master Cylinder included. The car does need paint...it shines but the hood is in sealer and it is original paint.

Price - $1800 with Custom SVO hood

I drove from SW, Ohio, to New Orleans, Louisiana, just to look at my 88' XR7. It took 13 hours+ and 900+ miles just to get there. I thought you guys liked these cars. If I found what I was looking for in Southern California, I would do exactly what Alex did, except if it needed work, I would have it towed. If I lived in Maine, and it was what I was looking for, yes, I would. If this was a Cougar, I know I would be going down to pick it up, for sure, but I prefer the non-fastback look.
Nice T-Bird.

I might be interested in the car if someone else wants the hood, I need a few pics of the interior and rear of the car to know. At least its somewhat close to me.

I prefer to sale it as a complete package or not at all.  Just want to keep it simple.
