Title: 88'LSC parting out
Post by: Innes on July 22, 2006, 02:04:47 PM
Its ether an 87 or 88 but I think it an 88' cause the EGR plate has coolant lines going to it and I don’t think they did that in 87' not s though. Doesn’t matter point is car is all OE for the most part and I’m taking as much as I can eat off it. Motor is 5.0 HO and only has 63,000 on it. Looking to dump car quick cause it’s a real eye saw due to E.Farmingdale Fire Department cut the roof off it using it as a practice/drill car. Don’t know why its was donated to FD cause the car looked like it was in real nice shape.
Also have 90’bronco getting rid of sooner maybe tomorrow or Monday. The FD already chewed some off it already.
Located in Farmingdale long island. And like to get rid of LSC by Tuesday.

The bronco is long gone but I still have the LSC hurt myself Saturday night at work I got 7 stitches on my left elbow and already broke one today(don’t want to go back to the doctor). Anyway left arm is out of commission right now. So this eye saw that I have is now covered (cause if I was my own neighbor I’d probably say something to my self), with the roof chopped off.

Picked threw the car a little today couldn’t get to dirty though (due to my stitches). Found the registration to it and it’s a 90 but I’m confused it has no mass air I thought all ford 89 and up were mass air. That why I assumed it was an 88’.

Bill, I just got your message yesterday (7/25).  LSC 5.0 HO motors are all speed density.  The only downside to them if you wish to run speed density is the speed limiter in the computer.  You can cut a wire to negate that though.....  Oh yeah, people get a tax write off by donating the car that is usually worth a lot more than the car.  I donated my Topaz after I blew the motor.  I bought the car for $600 put another 30K miles on it, blew the motor and got a $1500 write off.  Hope you feel better too, dude.

Would you happen to know if the climate control head unit on that is functional? (just the little black box in the dash) The one in my '89 only functions properly if I leave it on 60 degrees, otherwise it sometimes flips over to heat even at 65 degrees.. and I don't think the one from my '88 LSC works at all. (and it looks like I can't use the one from my '88 T-bird)

No way off telling besides for them cutting the battery terminals they cut the steering column out so in less there another way I could test it or you want to take a chance. Man they killed this car and its looks like they drilled on it on a real hot day due to the 50 or so empty bottles of water and Gatorade.

I wouldn't be entirely opposed to taking a gamble on it, but I would need to know how much (if any) risk would be involved in randomly plugging in untested components to an otherwise working system. In other words, I don't want to risk losing what functionality the system has now if there's a chance this one could have a short in it or something. (yes, I'm being paranoid.. the LSC's windows aren't working right now, and if I lost A/C on it as well, it would be unbearable to drive.. and my truck's A/C is broken) Perhaps I can get some input from the electrical gurus around here as to whether or not I should be worried about such things.. and if so, whether or not it's something I could possibly test with my cheapo little Radio Shack digital multimeter or the like.

How much would ya sell it for? I'm in the 33954 zip code, for shipping purposes.

Do you still have the motor? It's from a 1990 LSC? What all do you have left? My Tbird is soon gonna need a motor and my dad has a 90 LSC, he might have a few things he wants to....

Car is gone for a while I do have some misc. parts that I took though like the complete HO set-up (heads, complete intakes w/injectors & tb ect, cam, computer) was possibly going to put it up for sale just trying to figure out a fair price for it.

I don’t know if your playing w/me or not but the car is gone like I said and the roof was chopped of by the fire department so the interior was ruined.

Oyea it was black and looked like it was in good condition.
