im sure this wont be new to most of you, it has been discussed to death. i didnt get anywhere on the IRS today, and i borrowed a engine hoist(thanks Chuck!) so this is what i did instead. pulled the engine/trans and stock Kmember. then test fit my new tubular unit:

you hafta excuse my dirty engine bay. i jus got everything outta there and couldnt resist the oppurtunity to test fit new parts:D it will be cleaned before everything goes together officially.
Looks like a spacer between the K-member and the frame and you'll be set.
Looks great. Keep up the good work
spacer and a small amount of grindin on the outboard hole in each rear position. not bad, nuthin unexpected.
Go! Go! Anti-dive!
Oh, wait.....I did that :p
Is the IRS modded? I don't remember. I'll be surprised if you have any dive in that thing under braking. I know on my car it is very minimal.
go go anti-dive is right :D you had a hand in that too, eh?
yes the IRS is a modded version. im hoping for very little dive in the end
Who do you think gave the manf guys the new location points? ;)
hahaha, what about the IRS geometry, whos the responsible party there??
i have good understandin of how the geometry works, but only a mild knowledge about what to move where to get exactly the result your lookin for. i jus make the stuff fit the cars, lol.
I worked alot on the IRS as well...there was alot of back and forth on that. I think we did the best we could with what we had to work with though.
I remember when we did one of the first ones...but hadn't changed the subframe mounting bushings yet....uh, yeah..that was scary.....
yeah, i know there are compromises in it to keep it within packagin limitations. i figured you would have been in on that as well, even though no one ever mentioned you:flip:
kermit is/was still like that. all modded w/tubular arms and coilovers with stock rubber mountin bushings...:yuck:
