I figured instead of highjacking the thread about getting your car appraised I start a new thread to ask some questions. I'd like to move my T-bird over to collector car insurance before I take it out in the spring next year. Even though it has full coverage now if something happens to it Allstate won't fix it. I like to have the car insured for $3,000-$4,000 so I can replace it with a car of about the same condition if something happens to mine. I know the car isn't perfect and has some flaws (a few minor parking lot dings, some scraches, a few small rips in the headliner, stuff normal for a unrestored 18 year old car with 126,000 miles on it) so do I have to have it appraised to get collector insurance? Can I get collector insurance without an appraisal or not? What is the best company to go through for collector insurance? Hagerty? Any help from someone who has gone through this would be great. Thanks in advance for any information you can pass along:D
I wrote a VERY extensive article about this very subject for my site:

I hope it helps. For me, amending my current Nationwide policy was the easiest and best solution. You may want to look at Grundy's or Hagerty.
Thanks :D
So does this look like a good deal? It's from Grundy.

So does this mean it would be about $100 a month or $100 a year? I know it's a dumb question but I was just wondering. I could swing $100 a month no problem I was just wondering.;)
well i thought this was self explanitory

Sorry I asked a stupid question. I've been drinking Smirnoff;) . Ok one. I need an excuse for asking a stupid question.
