I got a bunch of old magazines off ebay with t-bird articles in them, I scanned the fox t-bird articles but have some mid-late 50's articles to do still, lemme know what you think or post links to any articles you may have.
Articles Here (http://"http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i11/turbosprunt/t-bird%20articles/")
Thats cool! It looks like the bird in the fore ground is 5 lug.
That white '83 from Ohio in the Hot Rod issue was a cover and feature car for Popular Hot Rodding. At least I thing it was Popular Hot Rodding. I have the mag, I'll have to try to find it.
I want to read about them, Links please!!!???
Nice.
That R&T article is an EARLY '83. Notice the tach in the clock location. I have ALWAYS wanted one of those. Practicality? Not so much, but I do dig it.
Thanks for the scans.
Thanks for the new Windows Wallpaper!
Chris
Find it and scan it!
I did post a link, re-read the first post ;)
Ahh, blonde moment
I'll look for it when I get home. I'm pretty sure I know where it is. I'll either post the article here or link to the scans.
I have those headlight covers on the t-bird in the foreground!
What an exciting time that must have been for the Cougar and Tbird fans of the world. For me, those cars are the best thing I've seen in years - and one of the high points of the 83-88 models. Totally awesome - they look great, perform great, and shows the world just how great the Birds and Cats can be.

Added the article from the new MM&FF
Dangit I still haven't found the article yet. I'll get it on here when I do...
Also notice the white Marchal covers, halo headrests and the lack of the black door accent stripe. Must have been a real early 83....
in the picture on the first post it looks like the red one has has a cougar grill on it.
tc
I have some Thunderbird articles I bought off ebay awhile back...mostly just new car reviews though ('87-88 and a couple earlier ones I think) and ads featuring the thunderbird.
call me crazy... BUT, in the 83 issue, the engine bay picture from the pass side of the red TC, isnt everything backwards int he motor? looks like the turbo is on the driver side? huh? am i looking at that worng. look sliek the cowl is the left side of the picture, and there is an inline intake facing the picture.... thats not right?
Frank M.
Thats 'cause its a cougar ;)
Scan them and post them when you have the time, If you want to email them to me I could upload them to my photobucket account
Indeed, looks like they mirrored the image for some reason, also is that the factory intake? the one I got off my 86 tc was different.
yeah, that is the factory intake. That is an "inline" intake. They came on the earlier TC's. My 83 has one... instead of being "bunched" into a square idea like the 87/88 (85/86?), they are in aline... maybe they altered the photo becasue there is not too much to see on the pass. side of a non-intercooled 2.3?? Any ideas? just interesting...
Or just a pre-production tester. I wish I could figure out where they grabbed that tach from. I know the steering wheel is EXP/LN7 (and I think even 82GT). I know they just didn't make up one special...it had to have come from some other car/truck.
I want that IMSA/TransAm TBird anyone know where it is?
I have that issue packed away in my collection
hey, i have a "specil eddition" mag from somewhere around 87-88 or 89. its a motor trend that titles "how ford won the 80s" or something like that. its a ford only mag. might have the murkur in there. a few different turbo coupe things.....anyone have that? i could possibly scan it if i can find it, and make the scanner work...

Come on, did no one see my cool video?
Has anyone ever seen the "Gone in 60 Seconds 2" made by H B Halaki? In the movie he started to make before his death, there were a ton of Fox T-birds used as police cars. I'll have to get some screen shots tonight when I can load the DVD up.
I just saw it. Hooray for the T-bird killing the Trans Am:D
So who here is going to be the first to make their grille flip down and shoot rockets? You could probabally use a model rocket ignitor to set off roman candles :tg:
HAHA that guy is the same voice for the Nintendo commercials of old! Great stuff!
