Title: Apparently I'm a "chosen one"...
Post by: Thunder Chicken on July 05, 2006, 09:31:51 AM
Received a Beta copy of Windows Vista in the mail today. Apparently I'm in their beta tester program. Don't remember ordering it, don't know who would order it for me, don't know how M$ would even get my name and addy (especially since I've only been at this addy for a few months).

Looks like when I get some time I'm gonna have some fun with the Dell...

Eh, I dont really care for it. XP hardly runs on most my puters now. I can only imagine beta or vista or what ever it is.

had it for awhile.
doesn't support the 3Com 9 series nics (3C905C) which I have in all my machines. thankfully i had some py dlink laying around and it works fine.

pretty nice and comes with media center, can't adjust the icon size so far that I can find, a bunch of video codecs don't work with the available video drivers I have. bit too "mac-y" for me. doesn't let you change alot and they are grouping things wierd,
the "run" command is buried, which sucks, cause I use it ALL the time. (full domain at home, run is my friend)
boots fast, but eats a  ton of resources still undecided on if I like it not, but haven't had a ton of time to mess with it. just got moved to a new location for work, and I am twice a busy

alas, that also means no browsing the site at work :(
