Title: Getting rims. Anyone good with photoshop
Post by: cougrrr302 on July 02, 2006, 01:41:58 AM
I work at a GM dealer and I can special order a set of American Racing "Casino" Wheels for cheaper than list price. I wann know if anyone would photoshop a set onto an 84 cougar. If you need a link to my cardomain for my car let me know. I just want a good picture of what it would look like. I have any choice of wheel, I like these the best. Here are the three. Top to bottom my favorites.

Im special ordering these to match the bolt pattern and correct backspacing. These should fit like a cobra r, just and inch and half smaller width wise.

I will do the rest later.

The best I could do with the pictures you gave me.

That is my 84.

Uh, can you get pictures that are straight-on?  It's hard to work with the angles in the picture

I'm partial to the second set as well.
The first set is nice.
I wouldn't do the third set.

I'm with everyone else on the third ones, they just wouldnt look right.  I like the first more than the second simply because they have a smoother look to them and they fill more space.  What diameter are you getting?

The third ones were threw in because there is an mn12 cougar with them here in town. Im torn between the first and second. The second are more complimentary to the boxiness of our cars with the flat spokes. The first are a more "complex" in my view looking version of the cobra r look.

Bigmeat: The diameter is 17x7.5. I could get 18x8. Im going with polished aluminum, not chrome

i say second ones for sure. what size are you getting them? chrome 17" would look great! but the first ones are nice just look so cheap to me, like a replacement rim, if you see what im saying some that a chick would but on her car to replace the one she ruined when she hit the crib at 35 with three wheels.

I dont know. Im really liking the way the first look. Thats what Im going for anyway. Its gonna be really tough. Im going with 17" polished aluminum. I got some thinking to do.

EDIT: The first ones(to me) fill out the space better. Im not sure. this is really tough.

I found out that American Racing does not in fact make them for our cars. They wont even custom make them. Those lying s. Well back to square one. Im getting the Cobra Rs I have always wanted. Might even go 5 lug. Anyone got an itemized list of stuff needed for the 5 lug conversion?

which finish are you going to go with?  I think the cobra r's would look good....  I've grown kinda partial to them myself :hick:

did you ask for rims that would fit a cougar?

or did you ask for rims for a mustang?

not too many companies keep info on our cars as far as bolt patterns go. i would say try asking for the bolt pattern and then for the mustang.

it doesnt  hurt to ask, evn for a second time

I asked specifically for rims for an 84 mustang. They said they had one set, 15x7 and all of the others they carry have the wrong offset. So I said **** it. Im getting Cobra Rs.

They had the right bolt pattern, but offset was wrong. Im going chrome, it will accent all of the chrome on my car, Im just going all out, no screwing around anymore. Exhaust is going on now. Super 40s or Delta Flow 40s?
