Hey guys, I have a 91 Mark VII ecu in my car and with the new 3.73's when the speedo hits 116, I'm actually doing about 95.5mph. This is not good because my best run at Atco was with a trap speed of 94.5mph(on 3.08 gears)...I don't want to hit the 1000' and have the car fall on it's face( fuel cut off)...I plan on going thurs night...I know it's easy, I just can't remember it...I'll probably crimp on some male/female spade connectors to whatever wire it is so I can just disconnect it at the track.

Just disconnect (or cut) the VSS signal wire going into the ECM (dark green/white wire at terminal 3). Your best bet would be to install a switch so you can make or break the connection at will.

do you have a 5 speed? If you do you dont need the VSS wire... trust me.
No, it's an aod...i've heard that without that wire connected it can cause stalling when coming to a stop, so having it on a switch would be optimum for me. Make my run, turn the switch back on after my run and flip it off during my next run.
For the time you are at the track, I'm 99% sure the switch can remain off with no ill effects...
Yeah most likely...I've really been getting things done on my car and I'd like to continue that trend before I have to return to work on Wednesday...lol. I'll let you know how it works out.
Well, I went to the track tonight...cutting that wire served it's purpose and I had no problems at all on the way home...drove 100% the same...for details my track outing see my thread in the "at the track" section.

Yeah, cutting that wire definitely worked like a charm...I just had it up to 110 on the A.C. Expressway before having to slam the brakes due to traffic...speedometer was reading like 127. transmission didn't know what to do...hopped from 3rd to OD like 3-4 times...lol. I'll make another run of it sometime soon when traffic calms down.
yeah, im trying to put a little thought into that issue as well and wondering what could overcome the fact that you ran out of power due to the fuel / air. Im curious about being able to manually increase the FPR to add just the bit more gas that might help on the top end.
Of course the CFI systems came with stock adjustable FPR's.

Well the car really doesn't "run out of power" like I thought...my trap speed on my fastest run was a little lower probably due to the fact that I let the trans shift into 3rd when IT wanted to...all my other runs, I held it until around 5100rpm. I had it up to 110 almost as soon as I was merging into traffic on the expressway...she moves...but I would like a few more top end ponies...adding more fuel pressure would probably just cause my trap speed to drop more.
