so whats the oldest functional part you have on your fox?
in a couple days i can say i have 40 year old heads,,,(1966 289 heads)
Sheesh... all I can say is probably some of the stock parts that are still marked E3xx. I'm pretty sure I saw E3SB on my firewall, which makes perfect sense in that it probably didn't change from '83 to '85.
I used to have a complete 65 289 J-Code 4Bbl in 86 Mustang...
...and I'm stabbing a 71 AMC 401 in a 87 TC. :D
Me.
I have a pair of V8 fender badges that are from the 30's that I found in my garage when I bought the house. They're not technically on the car yet, but they will be
:giggle: Same here. I think the rear sail panel lights have a 60's part number though.
I have the whole Boss 302 out of my dads old 69 Stang'. From the plug wires to the fuel lines on the car i have the whole thing.:D Wait, my Fila donen't run...
Does a compass count? i dont use it but itts in the tunk. my gramps gave it to me and it looks like on of those cheese gifts from AAA and is in a box that was white but now is like 30 or something years old. the restof my stuff if from 86
Well I dont have a bird anymore but on my 88 Ranger 90% of the parts have E3 in the P/N.
Ummm...good question. Gotta be the '84 block, crank, rods, pistons & heads that comprise the engine currently in the car :) Everything else is newer than that, I believe.
shoot, im goin the wrong way for this thread. im updating everything, not installin older parts.
only part ill be using older than the car itself is the 200K, '85 shortblock....
Lesssee, to keep up with TChicken, I have some lugnuts from a '39 Nash. Now don't tell me their not fuctional, as without them the wheels won't stay on....
Seriously I dunno, considered using '69 351W C9OE heads when my 5.0 was built(had the whole engine, since sold) but said naaahhh...
OOH OOH I know, any original 5.0 engine part from the '86 LSC, which is the short block, front cover and oil pan...
The dust that is filtered through the intake. It functions, but not like We would like it too.
I have the complete side trim for a 1956 Ford Customline two door.
What I believe to be the original rear in my 88 TC with 304,000 miles on it, not that old but that's a lot of miles.
On account of my freind chad being over here today, he said that he has a Flathead ford V8 in his garage. Not sure what year though as it's his dads. Does that count? The oldest part of my car is the whole thing. It's an 84'.
I got an 84 XR7 door, a gold 86 tc door, 83 trunk lid, rims off an 1979 mustang( I doubt they are that old being american racing and all) 1984 cougar front drivers seat, I think I have the radio out of my 78 ford van in there right now.
hit me up in a couple of weeks and remind me if you still have them :)
oh shiznit, sry bout that dude, my brother must have c00ched them when he got the wheels....
i went and looked and they disappeared
Its cool
Actually, none, but i have somewhere in the house an original wheel cover from a galaxie 71, 15 " rules !
The oldest car part I have is a set of wheel covers for a 1950 Plymouth. Now the oldest part on the Tbird has to be most of the car. It was built in September of 87 and was car 4036 off the line for 88.
I suppose if you wanna count FUNCTIONAL parts (the V8 badges I noted above aren't on the car so not yet functional) I'd say the '83 Cougar center console and '83 Grand Marquis tripminder are probably the oldest. Some parts carry older part numbers (dome light) but they're not actually that old...
That reminds me...there is (or was, about 5-6 years ago) a Flathead V8 just laying on the ground behind my old high school. I'd like to take it but I don't know how heavy those things are, and it would have to be carried a about 30 yards to get it to a vehicle.
how about my factory sparkplug wires sh*t how about every thing else exept the motocraft water pump I replaced it last year . you can see it at the cat jam again this year
The newest thing rick has in his car is his daughter.
daughters
Found something better. I have a set of OLD crager s/s wheels Not sure how old. I cleaned out the garage to put my car in and found them. Also there is a 455 Pontiac engine on a stand. It's out of a 70' goat.
