I've called every parts store and they all dont have a listing for the lower controll arm bushinigs!
Is the bushing that goes into the lower controll arm at the axle the same as any of the top bushings? That bushing has completely fallen apart.
yes, i've kinda been looking around for some too, with little success...mine are all but gone, and the rear squeaks on bumps...
Will one from a 88 TC? My freind is gutting one and he might have more around the garage. I can ask if you want
Someone back me up if I am right, but I think you can use Mustang lower control arm bushings. You just have to know if you have round or oval bushings.
Makes sense to me. :)
Have you guys tried http://www.rockauto.com?
The mustang ones "should" work. Take in consideration that the only real difference between the control arms are the lengths.
The bushings in the rear lower arms are the same as the Mustangs..
Duh
Duh and
Ahum Duh
I know the bushings are the same.... but where in the hell do I get them???????
Second question........ is the bushing thats in the rear of the lower controll arm the same as either of the two uppers?
Dunno where you get them...I never wasted my time with replacing the py rubber bushings. If you can find some pre '98 Mustang arms, you can get the bushings out of them. 99+ used 14mm instead of the 12mm hardware of the earlier cars...
No the upper bushings are different than that rear lower bushing...
Make a call to Energy Suspension, you can replace py rubber with urethane.
Summit Racing has a complete upper and lower kit from Prothane that is actually listed for our cars. Summit part #PTP-6-301-BL, kinda pricey though at $56.95.
That's not pricey....the ES kit is closer to $75-80 normally.
As has been mentioned before, do not replace all 4 locations with poly. At the very least leave the rubber bushings on the axle ears.
-dunno if the aftermarket supplies them, but nat availiable seperate from ford. only serviced in arm assy....
Called my buddy at the ford dealer... they can't even get the controll arms.
how about some moog part numbers upper control arm kit k8637 lower control arm kit k8289 that is for the bushings only and you need one set per side.I know these parts are available at oreilly auto parts. http://www.oreillyauto.com/EW3/ByKeyword.do?keyword=bushing&descriptionId=948 Also I know energy suspension has them I put there total car kit in my 84 turbo coupe.
well, yes. i did leave that part out. but i just replaced the ones one the money pit with che upper and lowers so i have a complete set if some one needs some.....however the dog ear bushings for the housing are still availiable. i put a new pair of those in too....
