Title: Quick oil question.
Post by: The Mercuryman on June 28, 2006, 09:35:52 AM
I have installed a 5.8 in my cat, and I just need to know the oil capacity on the engine?
The engine is a -86 that originally came out of a E-150, but I have replaced the oil pan with a Crown Vic pan.

-E150s back then had a 6qt capacity. crown vics had either 5 or 6 qt., depending upon pan.. i'd put 5 in it and check it and go from there.........

There's just one thing I forgot to mention. I  bought the Crown Vic oil pan used, from ebay, and the guy who sold had cut of the original dip stick, so I had to use the dip stick from the E-150 oil pan, and I don't know if that's correct. That's why I want to know the correct oil capacity for my 5.8.
