Title: Another headlight question
Post by: chronicinsomnia on December 15, 2004, 06:16:30 PM
I keep seeing these headlights on Ebay that are for a 87-88 model Thunderbird.  Will these lights fit on a 87-88 model cougar?

The part # is different than what I have found through Ford part stores.

Thanks

They won't work because they bolt up different on each car. I had to replace a headlight adjuster on my cougar to pass inspection, so I finds a turbocoupe in the junkyard and take the adjuster off there. Turns out it didn't fit on my cougar. So i had to go to another junkyard and pay $50 for the entire py headlight just to get the adjuster off the back.

1987-88 Cougar headlights = 1988-94 Lincoln Continental headlights

Once again.

Which = MAJOR bucks when compared to the Bird lenses...

I think that the Lincoln mark VII lights are the same as the Cougar.

Nope.  They are just ever so slightly narrower by about 3/8"  I dont think the mount is the same either.

NO they will not. those are 4X6 housings but they will fit 83-86 Cougars and Tbirds, I have them for my XR7 actually pretty good quality.
