For some reason I never seem to have enough flat washers around (although I have tons of lock washers), so I was trying to find a flat washer assortment on ebay. I find this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4651466131&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT , and think sweet, that's a great deal. So I do buy it now, get them today, and what do I find? No, not lock washers and flat washers. Instead it's lock washers, and internal & external "star" lock washers. Dammit :bs:
So now I gotta send it back and get my money back. On a side note, can you believe that NOBODY sells an assortment of regular old washers on ebay. There's lock washers, copper crush washers, chrome washers, stainless AN washers, and O-rings, but no flat washers. :disappoin
Won't you be spending half that money on shipping?
I agree.
I would just go ahead and keep those washers. Check the hardware store. I am sure you will find some there.
Well it shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks if I ship it back parcel post, I dunno.
Why are you getting fasteners on ebay? Save yourself a headache and support your local hardware store.
Well, I guess I can't complain too much, the guy refunded my money and then some and told me to just keep the washers. So that's pretty cool :)
As far as supporting my local hardware store, #1 we don't really have any, #2 I've never seen a "washer assortment" at a hardware store or maybe I didn't look hard enough.
I ended up just buying washers from mcmaster-carr.
im sure if it is a local store if you show them what you are lookin for they can get it for you in a matter of seconds. that is why i love local shop
Well normally I would go to lowe's, but paying $1 for 4 washers is kinda rediculous considering how many I seem to use. So I bought a pound of them from mcmaster for $3.50.
lowes isnt local! it is a corpation. local harware stores cant afford to sponser a winston wait they were politicy incorrect so they aren't around anymore, imean nextel cup car. by local i dont mean close to you i mean locally owned like the ones that are named after people or the town that they are in, that local. i dont know if that is the local the other guys where talking about but that was the local i was talkin about.
This is where I have purchased some from:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=34169
now harbor freight is the bargain hardware store. i think that is the most resonablestore ever.
I know what you mean by local.
Harbor Freight is like the wal-mart of hardware...
