Title: turbo question
Post by: Master_xzavior on June 13, 2006, 02:13:06 AM
Is it possible to use a turbo on more then one size engine? Kind of like would it be possible to take the turbo itself off a 4 cyl and stick it on an 8 or is there something keeping it from being done?
I know you would have to put an exhaust for a turbo on it. But with the turbo itself would it do what its supposed to and make more power?
If its 4 cylinder specific for the turbo could you put 2 of them on a V8 and run twin turbos? after all they would still only have to put up with 4 cylinders that way right?
Im totally clueless on turbo other then I know they make noise when they start working.

I'm pretty sure a single turbo from a 2.3 would be too small to do any work on a 5.0, but 2 of them would probably work well.  You could also use a single, bigger turbo on the 5.0.  Shawn and/or David probably has more infor on this.

well I was just thinking because Ive seen exhaust kits on ebay for twin turbos and such. That and a few turbos on there for pretty cheap got me to wondering.

Shawn showed me a pic a while ago of a guy who had a Mustang TT setup that looked mostly home-made and it was pretty cheap to put together, too.
