Title: Windsor Heads
Post by: tobeybj on June 11, 2006, 07:24:39 PM
I'm building a 351 to drop in the Cougar, the block is at the machine shop.  It's getting an .030 overbore, stock crank, new pistons, rods, etc.  I'll be running carbed.
I'm curious as to your opinion on heads.  Budget at this point rules out new aftermarket, but how are the e7 302 heads?  I can get a pair reman at about $360.  GT-40 heads seem hard to find.  Any other good casting #'s to hunt for???

Thanks for your help.

The E7s are going to be a real restriction on a 351... I would try for at least the iron GT40s...

the explorers came with the iron gt-40s, you should be able to pick them up off ebay, or a good yard fairly cheap?
Can't remember what years.. some else here will problably know off the top of thier head

Thanks guys, didn't think of the Explorers...
How about early 80's Windsor heads?  Would these be better than the gt-40's?
