So I went about attempting to install my subframe connectors today but I didn't make it very far. I got two of the studs at the rear of the front seats out (the 8mm on the pass side and the 12 on the driver's side), but I can't get the other two to even budge, of course. I've tried vise grips from the top and bottom with no luck. Tonight I put some red loctite on the nuts on those two and installed the nuts...I'm hoping when the loctite cures it will hold enough for me to torque those studs out. But if it doesn't...is there anything else I can try? I've run out of ideas.
You can pick up a stud extractor pretty cheaply. That's what I use.
i usually weld the nuts to the studs if they dont come out in the first attempt. youre not gonna re-use them anyhow.
Why the hell didn't I think of that, especially since I had my welder right there? I always overlook the obvious solution! Well, it looks like the loctite thing should work, if not I'll weld the nuts on.
So the studs have to come out for the seat braces to go in?
Yeah, the studs aren't long enough to mount the braces to I guess?
