I just wanted to take a second and confirm what I think I've read...
Cougar and T-Bird doors are interchangeable on similar years, correct?
ie: 85-86, or 87-88
I just want to make sure before I spend some cash....
Thanks
Yep Cougar/T-bird doors are the same:D
It's actually 83-86 and 87-88. The 87-88 doors will bolt onto an 85-86 (and vice versa) but they look way, way wrong (I once saw an '83-86 in MM&FF magazine that had 87-88 doors on it)
83-86 doors will work on all 83-86 T-Birds and Cougars, 87-88 doors will work on all 87-88 T-Birds and Cougars. They will bolt on tho one-another as Thunder Chicken stated and have way wrong trim lines. The specifics are the 83-86 have a "crease" on the top part (over the glass), and a very defined crease line right above the trim. The 87-88 doors are smooth. Lincoln Mark VII doors will bolt up, but again the body lines are all wrong. Interestingly, the Mark hood bolts right up and has a different line to it, might look good on an early 'Cat...
hmm id like to see pictures of the lincoln mark VII hood :-? what year span would that be aerobird?
All the years the were made. They are "flat" like stock 83-88 hoods, but instead of having the "lines" from the grill go out at an angle toward the outside corners of the hood, they go straight back. Would look "dignified" on an early 'Cat or jus plain mean with a cowl scoop on any fox Bird or Cat.
Thanks for all your help guys. I just scored an nox Passenger side door off eBay. Now, if I could just find a rust free driver door too...
