will a SVO T-5 tranny fit an 86 5.0?

No better than any other 4-cyl would. It can be made to fit (5.0 bellhousing, '90 Probe pilot bearing), but you're no better off with an SVO tranny than you are with a 4-cyl Mustang or Turbo Coupe tranny...
