messing around, looking for different options for when i finaly paint. any comments?
I kinda like that. Reminds me of the Shelby Daytonas from the late 80's early 90's.
I love white and grey.
Thumbs up from me, Nate. I like the way that looks
pretty sweet, is that a photoshop?
I like the grey and white but I personally think it needs a transition between the two. I really like Cougars2Go's white 87 XR7 with the black moulding.

I agree. With the way you have it photochopped now, it doesn't look like it has a definitive break point between the two colors. At the least i'd go with black for the trim, and perhaps an accent color in the middle of the trim. Other wise it the color scheme works well.
yeah i photoshopped it. origionaly i wanted to paint it black, but now the white kinda grew on me lol. hear it is with the black trim and tc red stripe painted blue like it is on my car now.
Cool! How about painting that blue stripe white?
White + grey = smooooth
I like Andrew's white stripe idea also. Try that combo and I think you'll have a winner. Very nicely done.
thanks guys hear is the white strip idea
nice!
here is what mine will look ish like ish...
I kinda like the version with the blue trim, myself...but then, if you don't have any blue elsewhere on the car, it'd kinda look..strange, maybe..but I thnk the gray, and white scheme looks pretty sharp.
Shame, I like your's too, and after looking at both you ideas, I'm starting to think about doing black on top, with the molding breaking it up, and then grey on the bottom. Maybe blue in the molding..?
I dunno, but both of you guy's cars should look ed good when done up...;)
The white and great looks awesome, the white trim stripe definetly comments it, transition, whatever you wanna call it. Cool though.
try bringing the grey to the bottom of the stripe and the top of the moulding white with a black stripe.
i vote for the blue stripe.
originally i was going to go with grey on the bottom, blue stripe and black on top. the grey is still up in the air but i think most likely im gonna go with the light blue on the bottom, but factory 88 silver blue (code 33 i think). ive loved that color ever since i had my 1st sport that color. the paint i used was just to get an idea of how it would look. it was some light blue truck and van pain. way too blue and not enough silver for my taste.
nate...i love the white on top, grey on the botom and the blue stripe, or white.....either would look sweeet.
Nate, I really like the look of the white strip with the black moulding.
Shame, I like the idea of the light blue on the bottom as well.
Hmm, maybe I should break up the monotany of my car
*ponders
Nah.
I like the white stripe better. With the blue stripe it looks too much like a late 80's Mustang GT factory paint job.
I like the blue stripe.
blue stripe deffinately part of mine is blue I havent gotten it all finished even though its the only blue on the car at the current point it doesnt look bad but then Im a big fan of blue. I love the two tone design as well thats about how mine is gonna be but its gonna be blue and black instead of white and grey.
Thats the beauty of it all. These cars ARE 80's cars.
I know but I prefer something unique and not so Mustangish. That's why I like the white stripe better.
i don't have photoshop, but here's me using microsoft paint (woohoo me:shoothead )....
anyway, you get the idea... i think it looks smoother and less flashy with the stripe matching the bottom color instead of the white
I'd go with the first picture's color scheme and do the moulding inlay of that in white.
it pays to have the right tools, unfortunately, i don't think i ever do:stupid:
p.s. if it could be shown right, i agree, just the white and grey with the white stripe looks sharp
IMHO, the white on grey with black beltmoulding and blue stripe looks the best
I agree with everyone voting on the blue. The bird I got looks almost like blackjacks (cept mine isnt as shiny. and the rear bumper cover doesnt match the car. and its missing the trim on one side.) Same color though. The two browns honestly Im not to fond of but what can I say I got a good deal on the car. If I remember right the blue I used was saphire blue or something like that its a darker blue with metal flakes in it. I painted part of the trim before kansas decided to rain on me. and it looks really good even on the brown. and from the picture it looks good on white and grey too. If I had to pick from the choices I would pick the blue first followed by the grey in second. the white just sticks out way to much IMO.
Honestly it seems alot of people on the board dislike the wide py trim they put on our cars to begin with. The white being that bright compared to the black of the trim as well as the grey under it actually tends to draw attention to the trim instead of direct it away from it which is what I think looks better.
Getting the attention off the trim and onto the rest of the car makes it look sharp. The idea of painting the trim grey like the bottom actually looks pretty descent but instead of a white stripe maybe try a black one something other then that bright white.
