Title: 86 ignition wire woes
Post by: jhildy69 on May 11, 2006, 03:54:23 PM
On my '86 Cougar, I'm looking for the wire coming out of the lower end of the steering column that is only live during the engagment of the starter. (when the key is turned to full start position). Any one out there know which color it is?    Jeff

Should be blue/red stripe... Same as on the small solenoid terminal...

Well the best place I can tell you to find it would be to trace it back from the selinoid next to the battery. the small wire that most of the time has a push on connector. mine is white i believe.
