Post by: black magic on May 08, 2006, 06:40:28 PM

Very nice. I'm a little suprised at price considering the 85 xr7 cougar I just bought has 10 thou less miles was completely original(down to the tires) and went alot cheaper then this. Not that Im complaining:)

Lucky/Stupid  I guess it's a shame/blesing that some of these people don't appreciate these cars as much as we do.  I understand that he still likes it, but my T-bird is in terrible shap compared to that TC and I'd never leave it for anything.

One problem with the car. Its been sitting for how long?
I can only bet that everything rubber from the belt to the suspention needs replaced.

But ya its  clean.

Looks like the reserve wasn't met at $8300. I'd be sending that bidder an e-mail if I was the seller!

8300 bucks reserve not met? Someone needs to put down the crack pipe and seriously consider the fact that theyre talking about a 17 year old car thats bone stock I could see it with a beefed up small block in it and all kinds of other stuff done to it but come on a stock car? Whats the chances of finding one just as nice as that one in the auto trader or somewhere else on ebay for alot less with more options?

Q: Do you know when the vehicle was either repainted or had a new front end put on. the paint scheme on the nose is not factory. I live in Dallas, owned a beautiful 87 Turbo Coupe until I got married. I have a brother in law who lives in Richmond that I would love to have look at the car. Is that possible?

A: The whole car has not been repainted. When I got the car to Texas I had it detailed. The guys at the detail shop told me about a process where on white cars they acid wash the paint and then wet sand and buff. Since the paint was hazy and dirty I thought this would be a good idea and it was. Except the jackass with the buffer burned the paint where in some places you could see like gray clouds from where the paint was so thin. Though everything was nice and shiny I could not stand the thin spots that were in about 5 places. Every time I saw the car I got mad all over again so I brought the car to arguably THE BEST paint shop in Texas whom I had paint my Iroc a while back. They sprayed and cleared some of the spots on top and then blended. The 3 places I had to completely paint to get them to my satisfaction were the trunklid, driver front qtr, and top of the front bumper cover and grill center. Dan is probably the most expensive paint man around but by far he is the best. The car looks great. I would be more than happy to have your brother in law come look at the car. I will be back in town sometime Wed. evening. We can try and arrange for him to see it on either Wednsday evening or Thursday morning before the auction ends if you would like. Thanks for your interest, Jay

What part of the paint scheme isn't factory?

Q: Didn't bother to reset the trip before you took the picture? Shame on you. How many miles are really on the car?

A: People like you should not be allowed to use computers. What the hell does the tripometer have to do with anything? Pull a carfax moron-

Getting a little defensive about nothing arn't we.

And ya it seems kinda odd the numbers on the odometer don't line up.

there was a point where my odometer looked like that while I was setting it to read how many miles were on my car instead of how many were on the car the cluster came out of.
