I finally got around to getting some work done on the seat brackets for the Recaros in the Tbird.
I was able to get the driver side done at least.
The bracket is pretty beefy, but there will be no flex in it during "spirited" driving :hick:

Then I got the seat mounted. Needs a touch more cleaning and another oddity I found...these are VW Recaros, and for some reason the recline adjusters are on the "wrong" side of the seat. The seast release lever is going to wind up on the inside of the seat instead of on the outside. Good thing the only thing that will be in the back seat will be the battery :D

The grey is a little off, but it will suffice.
Those make my pants tight.
Great install.
sweet, i think they look great chuck. i assume the id for the bolsters then? they look pretty close to the cage...
The is for the recline. There's 1" or so between it and the cage bar. The Cobra seats were a tighter fit than these are.
The brackets are beefy, but they are still lighter than the power seat bases...
Looks good man. Nice job one thos brackets. So are you using the passenger side seat for the driver to get the recline on the driver side?
Apparently. I didn't know the VW's had the recline s on the inside...odd.
That is odd. They must have center consoles styled for access to it.
Yup, I don't know what VW you got them from but VWs have a console that starts farther forward so there's nothing between that part of the seats.
These are from like a 90-91 Jetta GLi
That looks freaking awesome. Very nice work.
