Hey guys, I thought Id join your forum here after spying for a few months. Im looking to purchace an 83-86(right? 4-eye) Turbo Cougar in the near future and wanted to soak up as much info about them here. Im glad to be aboard! :tg:
Welcome.
I recognize you from somewhere...turboford?
Howdy, and good luck...I don't see many of the turbo Cougars (which for '83-86 were the XR7's weren't they?)
Im a member everywhere kinda. RPS, TRS, corral, NATO, TF.com(though I never go there), ect..
I think the 83-86s were there year of the 4 square but am not sure. Id like an XR-7 black/silver exterior.
Thanks for the welcomes!
Give baXo about a million and you MIGHT get his. Welcome
Funny no ones pointed out there is no 83 XR7..
RPS and TRS are some of the best forums on the web IMO.
Dude I don't know cougars :P
The only "4-eye" turbo XR7 I've seen anytime in recent memory, was one I saw in the parking lot at WFC in 2003.
I thought this thread was about me for a second :rollin: :tg:
Greetings. :hick:
There could be! /me starts looking for a huge turbo....
rps and trs? is my brain melting or am I just st00pid?:hick:
oh yah. and welcome!!! good luck in your search.
www.rangerpowersports.com (http://"http://www.rangerpowersports.com") www.therangerstation.com (http://"http://www.therangerstation.com")
If you own a ranger (87 4x4 xlt extra cab) you have to know about those sites.
I useta be on RPS, til cruznlife decided to be a bell end to me for no apparent reason and told me I shouldn't be on there, so I stopped going. I was just trying to help out people that were doing turbo swaps but oh well.
I guess I'll answer you on this. The 83'-86' cats are 4 eyed, yes. Most turbo's were T-birds, but I may be wrong on that one. Welcome.
Sweet. Welcome and good luck finding a XR7 turbo. I found mine by accident.
kyle
just found one in a junkyard. it's complete but i'm not going near it. has thick spiderwebs all inside(enough that i can't tell what color the int is) and i hate spiders. engine comp is also complete and it's a 5 speed. it's a 4 eye, not sure on the year
Most turbo cars were Turbo Coupes, but there were some XR7 Turbos out there too. Just not many.
And the 5-speed variants were even rarer.
Yeah, I am wanting an 83-86 Cougar 5speed. A kid that works at the local Dairy Queen has one that looks to be in good shape, but Im unsure of the trans type or if he would sell. I need to strike up a convo next time I go there.
Red_LX, I remember you. Cruzin was also a pen 15 to me a few times, but I guess theres always going to be one. Oh, you can come back if you want. His truck burned to the ground and he left the site. Well...he stopped posting anyway.
Welcome. Yeah good luck on that Turbo XR-7. The junkyard down the road from me has one. I haven't been there in a while but last time I was, it was in surprisingly good shape.
