Title: One hell of a day for the Cougar
Post by: cougrrr302 on April 26, 2006, 11:24:04 PM
:D Got her running. The 86 runs half-assed. The butterfly inside of the throttle body was stuck, causing overfueling. One of the plugs is fouled, but thats easy enough. So a plug, and some valvecover gaskets, and its a driver. I had to chop the exhaust off, up to the ler, and the ler is now gone, replaced with the turn down. One of the motor mounts is cracked, and the engine hops around pretty bad. All in all it was a good day.

That beast must be loud as hell.  And at least the plugs on these motors are easy access.

Its not loud at all, Im very very disapointed. Once I get the plugs replaced(helluva lot easier on this car) and then oil situation fixed, then Im getting rid of the cat. I want it to be loud. Doesnt help that it has a leak and doesnt fully run.

I ran my t-bird for a while with a turndown where the ler used to be.  Not loud at all compared to the headers, off-road H-pipe and straight-throughs I got on it now.

This makes me wanna get mine running...
