Hey guys,
the oil, temp and fuel guages in my '88 TC stopped working and I'm trying to figure out what wire gives them power. I'm pretty sure the IVR is fine. I was thinking it was a grey/yellow wire on the igintion switch. Any help would be great.
Grey/yellow (resistor wire) powers the IVR.
The IVR supplies the gauges.
Would that be the same grey/yellow wire comming off the ignition switch?
My diagram shows several grey/yellows coming from the same switch terminal, going to various devices. Only the "resistor" wire goes to the IVR. Easy to spot... yellow stripe on one side, "Resistor do not cut or splice" every few inches on the other side.
One more question, it says here (http://"http://www.coolcats.net/tech/general/buttstuffog4.html") that the 12V to IVR is light blue/pink. Who's right?
BTW, thanks for the help.
Take your pick.
On another page at Coolacts... http://www.coolcats.net/media/ (http://"http://www.coolcats.net/media/") the standard-to-buttstuffog and electronic-to-buttstuffog guides both say 12V to IVR* Black, Grey (2 wires) and that matches both of the cut-off plugs I have in my "projects" box; a black and a grey (with yellow stripe).
