I have this diesel tractor that is leaking fuel out of one of the injectors. It apears to be coming from the seal that it fits into, in the cylinder head. Makes a pfft, pfft, pfft noise as the motor runs. Its losing compression and fuel on that cylinder. Its been doing it for some time now, but its getting worse.
Now here is the thing. How the F**k does the injector come out? I unbolted the fuel rail, and the line from the injector pump. Then there are two studs that pass through the injector itself. I removed those too. Now with everthing off and no other meens of attachment the thing will not come out..!! I even tried a crow bar and it would not come out. It cant screw out because it can't turn without hitting a bunch of stuff.
So I ask you how do you get the thing out???? And is there infact a seal around the injector? There apears to be a rather large rubber thing at the base, that looks a little swolen compared to the other injectors.
What brand/model engine is it? (I'm a diesel tech in the USCG)
Well all I know is it a Long 2360. Its made in Romania.
Ill ask around work, i work at a diesel truck shop.
Well, there's your problem, you need some pig grease. And an Elbonian witch doctor, some mud, and a Russian 7/16 of 23.2mm left-handed wrench.:hick:
Seriously though, here's a link to buy a new repair manual:
http://www.ssbtractor.com/tractor_manual_display.cgi?m=Misc.%20Tractors&o=Long%202360,%202360%20DTC
It should pop out, though most diesels require a special crowbar-type tool. Try spraying some PB Blaster around the o-ring and rotating it back-and-forth.
Thanks guys.
Hey, I'm Romanian  :flame: :flip:
Seriously though, some of the stuff made back home is utter shiznite. I have no experience with tractors so I cannot help you, but I could perhaps tell my father to ask around next time I talk to him.
