Title: 4 stroke riding mower problems
Post by: Funky Cricket on April 14, 2006, 01:53:32 PM
Quick question:
pretty sure it is the rings but...

a friend is getting gas in his oil pretty bad on his 4 stroke carburated Briggs and Staton riding mower. he has to change the oil ever time he mows. I would think bad rings, but if anyone else has any guesses he would like to try and fix this. Thanks! :hick:

My guess would be the float or needle valve is sticking, dumping raw fuel in and causing fuel in the oil. It's a common problem in seasonal engines that sit around for months at a time...
