well it took a month but i finally recieved my cougar via depandable auto shippers. It's an 85 xr-7, 5 speed turbo. just under 10,000 original miles! It had the original wheels and tires on it when I got it arrived. Leather interior- it still smells new- no joke. besides some paint chips on the windsheild trim everything looks great. Only thing not working is the a/c. When I took it to emissions they almost didnt believe the milage. An older man bought it new. He had health problems and didn't drive it much. he sold it to the guy i bought it from in aug of 05. The guy I bought it from only put 1,000 miles on it before deciding to sell. Supposedly its only been in the rain twice. Once was on the way Depandable auto shippers. It drives and looks like a new car. Practiacally is lol. so anyways here are some pics- new wheels and all

Not a fan of the chrome Cobra R's.....but the rest of the car is A1.. Rare one too with the 5spd.
Good buy.
wow man...awesome! i dont even want too ask what you paid for that....
You post a pic with the hood open but no engine pic?:nono: wtf? beauty though
[note from the wife]:
ohhhhhhh...so pretty! Those kittys feel so good wrapped in leather, don't they? Umm, she sure is pretty. Enjoy!
That is just beautiful. I really like the look of the chrome Cobra wheels.
ill get some engine shots up tomw. The ones i took of the engine bay turned out bad- If I ever get my black 86 and this coug together I'll prolly put the cobra r's on it. I really wanted something other than stock wheels and personally I dont see all that many cougs with the cobra r's. Outta all the cars at cat jam I dont recall any having cobra r's at that point in time. thanks for the comments-
That is a nice clean Cat...hope ya enjoy it!
Was that the one on eBay I saw a few times? VERY nice. (put the stock wheels back on ;) )
one word...MEOW!
I LOVE IT. That is one badass car. Those rims are common, but they set it off so well. I think your car, baXos, and 88turbo are so awesome with cobras. Sorry if i dont mention someone, those are off the top of my head. NICE car.
very nice car i want one that looks like that too
Saran wrap it and put it in a crate! It's too new!
I can see Ric (blknredcougar) drooling over that car!
Please tell me that it will be in at least a semi-heated garage 24x7 and receive no mods. Did you have to bend any wheel well lips for those wheels?
Also, please tell me you won't need a front tag on this car.
My opinion of this car should be obvious.
.
wow... that car is incredible!
that is very nice... to nice to drive
*droooooooooooooool*
preeetty kitty
I keep coming back to look at her...and drool. Gosh she's beautiful! Drive her on sunny days, what heaven.
so when are ya gonna swap in the 5.0 ? :rollin:
I do keep the car garaged- although it's my brothers garage and theres hardly enough room for it. i think the garage is only 17 ft so the car just fits. Good thing is I'm in arizona so theres hardly any humidity and very little rain. Shouldn't be to hard to keep it clean. The wheels fit without any problems. Wheels are the only mod I planned on doing. I'll try to get some better engine shots and post them later today- thanks
Even without a full on motor pic you can tell under that hood is very clean. Nice score dude!

Since I love the 85'-86' cats best, and can't put more of these on here than 9, that's all I have to say about that.
a few engine and interior pics

Wow that thing is ultra-nice. Looks brand new. I'd leave the R's on it. They look sharp. About all I'd do is try a find an old Motorsport front mount intercooler kit. Unfortunately, with the bolt on compressor you can't use an 87/88 intercooler. Very nice score though!
By the way, the black one looks really cool with the cobra jet hood scoop.
i just gota say..WOW again...looks amazing..not a fan of the star trek shaped steering wheel but it doesn't matter on that thing.
Dannnggggg.........What a beauty!!!
here kitty kitty kitty, come to TheEskimo
NIIIICE. I like that channel at the top of the firewall for all the wiring and other lines. Maybe I'm just not observant, but I don't think I've seen that before.
My '84 XR-7 has it, but I don't remember it in any of the others.
you lucky son of #$%*&!!!.that a pretty cougar, happy motoring!!!
DON"T MOD IT... find a statis chamber and keep it in there when not driving it.. that is amazingly clean and GEORGOUS!
It's so clean I can't believe that you didn't take a travel back in time to 1985 to buy it. Nice:D
I would definitly do it, in private, with saran wrap covering it. But only expensive saran wrap, cause the cheap stuff just won't do for something that nice.:D
Yeah, I agree with the saran wrap and all of that stuff. When I saw this on Ebay, I thought to myself that it is too much of a trailer queen for me but at the same time, I was hoping someone from here would get it and preserve it. I am also holding out for another type of Cougar though.
After spending the money to get that car, I'm pretty confident you are serious about keeping it in the condition you paid for.
Whew, there is one that is in the safe.
Now I wonder who bought that black 20K-mile LS.
nah guys im gonna use it as my daily driver. HAH J/K. karl I was thinking the same thing as far as wanting a really nice original cougar but also perserving it. I just kept thinking I'd regret not buying it if I passed it up. I havent heard of many exotic ways of storing cars except for the airtight bubble. S
oops- so what i was trying to say is the cougar will be in good hands- if anyone has any other storage tips i would appreciate it- thanks everyone
Nice Cougar!:headbang:
James
thats a absolutely beautiful cougar! i saw that on ebay and wanted it so bad. i am so happy someone one here got it. at least someone would take good care of it. even if i had the money to have bought it would not have been garaged so i am so happy it is going to be taken care of
good luck with it, shes a keeper lol
Alan
Very, very nice.
I'd kill for my interior to look like that. I never knew that there were supposed to be little Ford emblems in the squares on the running board things. Mine must have fallen out years ago. Lol kinda funny though, it being a Mercury and all. Anyhow, amazing car man.
both of my 86's do, I dunno if my 87 does but I would suppose so. Hell even my station wagon does.
Absolutely stunning.
