Ok Ive been wondering something. What's the difference between a basic and TC looks wise other then the nose and hood and trim stripe down the side? I hear people saying well it was just a base model made to look like a TC how do you tell without opening the hood if those things have been changed?
basicly you cant its people blowing hot air, same body different parts
That's kind of what I thought so basically if I took the suspension and body parts and swapped them onto mine Id have a TC
You can swap everything over from a TC, only way to tell for sure is to look at the Vin tag, if it starts like 1FABP64, then it's genny TC...
I think Sports are 62, and base and LX are either/or 60, and 61
I know it's some variation though...
ok so swap the vin plate and it would be genuine :D Not that I would thats illegal and stuff
I'll never tell, lol
Thought about doing that to the TC, but some other stuff is meesed up, best not to...
well yeah Id say so Mr John Deere lmao:flip:
its not a turbo coupe without a turbo ;)
The TC also has blacked out window trim and 16" snowflake wheels, and the front bumper is different. Other than that and the differences you mentioned, they're identical, appearance wise...
Actually it was a Ford 5000 diesel tractor....lmao
omg, dad is actually talkin about getting a Case tractor now...noooooo!
Also, 87-88 TC's got the 8.8 rear, with stick trans having 3.55 gears, autos getting the 3.73 ratio...
Well at least you killed a ford with a ford lol
well, didnt really kill it, just made sure that fenders became s metal, and the core support is a little more tweaked now, lol
Turbo Coupe...without the turbo, its just Coupe.
ok so basically I could switch all the stuff over body wise and have a TC out of my base model Tbird?
You'd have a TC clone with the wrong powertrain, yes. :)
ok I was just curious about it not that I plan to do it, it would be easier and probably the same price or cheaper to just find a TC somewhere rather then spend money on the parts.
if your cars in decent shape, the header pannel, lower bumper cover, hood, turbo coupe door mouldings and rims should be plenty cheep enough to come by. either way your not gonna fool any tbird enthusiest and everybody else has no ideah what they are looking at. personally, i think its the easyist way to make the base cars look like something.
