So ... who's got the quickest time slip here?
I do. my best time is a 4 second quarter in my bone stock 84.
That would be a quarter-
block, right? :flip:
Either that, or the amount of time it took him to pick up a quarter off the floor board.
Don't know oficially, though I would think Andrew Beedle's car is probably at least up there in the top 3.
12.23@ 112.2, but I know there are at least 4-5 quicker than my time...
I know my 3.8 88 Bird ran the quarter in like the low 17's.
That put me in the bottom half of the group.
I thought you only did the 1/8?
The Hawk & 5.8fastcat are some of the fastest here, i dont know their times, but these are really modded cars..
My new setup should run a real low 13 possibly a very high 12 due to the relative low weight of the car and I know there are plenty here faster than me. What about the guy who has the Caddy 500 in his bird? IIRC that motor was pretty hooked up.
i dunno...i expect low 14s high 13s if im realy lucky when my junk gets put back together.
isn't there someone here with a supercharged 347? oh... it forget their user id at the moment.
My Bird ran an 8.40 on my bling wheels w/street tires.....I'd show the proof but my wife's cat ate the timeslip.;)
:giggle:
I couldn't tell you what it runs....never been down the strip with the current engine. I'd guess 12's as it sits......ie: no hooky hooky.
Thanks for sharing guys .. I was just wondering what I'm up against with the new setup
meh....there is always gonna be somebody faster....lol
I think Im at about last place here. Im sure I could do it in at least 13 or 14....... minutes. maybe quicker.:D
I don't expect to be the fastest car out there ... just fast enough ;) I'm staying NA for now :)
I'm guessing mine would be in the high 15's... to 60 MPH :hick:
so you going to race the board:flame:
mines one of the slowest here thats for sure its gone zero to zero snice sept.
oh yeah and Hank is the King of the Hill
well my mostly stock TC ran 15.81 at 89mph; i know....yawn..but not too shabby for a tiny turbod 4 cyl. Now my other TC should run easy 9's in the 1/4 when done..bwahaha. oh sorry. Yeah its a 408 inch windsor with all forged internals, vic jr heads with a HT60 blowing thru a carb and backed by a glide. Unfortunately its still in a zillion pieces at the moment. Hopefully by next summer, she will be ready to haul the mail!
She's not a member here, but I believe she's on TCCOA. Anyhow, she drives a 4-eye with a twin turbo'd 514 in it I believe. Her site is horsepowerandheels.com or something like that. I think as far as fox bids go, she'd probably be ki..er queen of the hill.
 daayyuumm, twin turbo 514, mmmmmm hawspowa to spare!
edit: oh yeah I remember that car. last i heard it was still doing shakedown runs. wonder if it has made any full woop ass passes yet?
That thing is SICK
mmm, dont forget the guy "blownbirds" , ive heard he had some racing vs corvettes and won. Not bad....
Here's her car: http://www.promodfullthrottle.com/Media/Stats&Crew/Thunderbird.htm
Nice, her first "detuned" pass was 7.51 @ 186 MPH!
:flame:
Eric and Carmen will remember this one... Back in the day of my old website (almost 10 years ago!!!), my buddy Tony had an 86 TC with the SVO 460 crate motor under the hood.
Back in November of 1997, he took his "sleeper" to the strip in Albuquerque and made the following passes:
12.048@112.579
11.942@112.933
11.975@113.194
11.909@113.937
11.964@113.491
thats the black one with the side pipes and alum wing on the back right? And nice cowl hood..
No, Tony kept this one clean. No wing, 3" exhaust was under the car, and the hood had a small Harwood Aero scoop... More pics and info HERE. (http://"http://www.geocities.com/thundercoupe/tabacchi.htm")
thats not the one I was thinking of. It was a black 87 or 88 with a 460, a alum looking small wing and side exhaust if I'm remembering correctly
hell yeah bob, this car was clean lol, it wasnt a wing tho, it was a adjustable nascar spoiler... and i think he needed it for downforce on the highway lol. and dont forget the airdam he had too. and for some reason i think the guys name was joe?
The best with my old combo has been 11.75 @ 111 MPH. Drove her 60 miles to the track installed 15 in drag radials made about 5 passes and then removed the drag radails and drove home. Not too shabby for a 3800lb ride.
I'm hoping for mid to low 11's soooon.
there was a guy named bob (i think that was his name), he had a bird that he raced in silver state or something. went 224mph. he had a site but i think it's gone. talked to him a few times, nice guy
Nice times Greg, whats the "old combo" and the "new combo" just curious..
