Title: A Rookie cop ruined my life!
Post by: cougrrr302 on March 26, 2006, 01:46:52 AM
Tonite I was having fun riding around in my Escape. Had 3 friends with me, listening to Chinese Freestyle by CKY and having a good time. So naturally I saw a cop, and thought, hmmmm, wonder what it would be like to play the COPS theme song real loud and drive around. So I did, I end up next to him at a stop light. I turn right on the green and then YOU KNOW IT. He follows me and turns on his lights. After 30 minutes of waiting. $70 for my driver side mirror having window chalk on it. He and I quote, said, "If you go wash your car right now I wont give you a ticket for the writing on the rest of your car." B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T. So I went to the gas station threw some windshield cleaner on it and let it run off. Then I tore ass through mud. So successfully, a few friends wrote on my car, I leave it due to work and get a ticket for it, clean it then tear up my brand new car mudding. One HELL of a fun night.

but the moral of this story is that you tried to f@#k with a cop (be it right or wrong in your eyes, you did), so he f@#ked you.....  i'm not trying to be an a$$ (and maybe the cop should not have found an infraction which technically you WERE in violation of), but you *gulp* may have gotten what you deserved.... sorry man, but you were in a way flipping the finger at authority (i.e. playing the cops song to taunt him)........  this is just my opinion, not a fact:deal: :nono:

Move to Houston and you'll fare better.  Cops aren't nearly as bad, ya know actually are busy fighting the bad guys down here.

he could have been a real jerk and found some way to give you a points ticket or a heavy fine for something.... no matter how "faithful to the law" we try to be, none of us are "violation free"

Was it one of the town cops or the statelys that run through town? I had one pull me over about a year ago because of my window tint. The back window was untinted due to I hadnt had time to crawl back there and put it up so it would stay. So basically I had my rear quarters and the door windows tinted.
My window was rolled most of the way down due to it being like 120 out. He pulled me over and said that it was to dark and that it was a safety hazard for the police due to not being able to see clearly in the vehicle. First off, he could see me fine when he was behind me.
I dont know to many cops who pull you over and park next to you. So I played dumb and said really Sir I had no idea. So he brings his little gadget. I swear the due must have said go go gadget tint checker or something cause he popped up in about 3 seconds with it.
Anyway, he sticks his little machine on it and tests it. Sure enough my window came back saying it was tinted down to 4%.
Two things wrong here. 1) you can't by window tint that's 4% from wal-mart. 2) Most stock vehicles from the factory with tinted windows are harder to see through then mine were.
ended up writing me a 100 dollar ticket for faulted equipment or some bullshiznit like that.As well as a warning to get my windshield fixed and to put my seat belt on.
On top of it all I ended up being 45 minutes late for work because of him being a slow ass retarded no class having p.o.s. who was just looking for someone to pick on.
Dude next time get instead of using the window chalk, get the temporary spray paint they have at wal mart and if he pulls you over tell him you need help someone vandalized your car and you need it reported :D
Title: lucky about the seatbelt
Post by: mywifeskitty on March 26, 2006, 02:36:25 AM
where i live, they can pull you over for just the seatbelt fine, you don't have to be doing anything else.... it's like a fine of 225 for the driver and 75 for the passenger... it used to be that they had to pull you over for something else (like the tint) before they could fine you for a seat belt

I know I was playing the song to play with him, but honestly. He could have said, please turn down your music, or please wash your car. But no I work all  day with no time to wash it, especially when its 10 degrees here, and i am in no way freezing my ass off for a  city popo. It was some new guy, that the biggest bell end cop in our town trained. A friend of mine I just find out got pulled over doing 38 in a 30, no ticket, a warning. I have never been pulled over in my life, and I get a ticket for window chalk. He has been speeding 3 times and got warnings everytime.

Great thing. My neighbor is a Motor Carrier Inspector. Semis and that stuff. Anywho he has a gauge to test window tint. So Im going as legally dark as possible. Lets see them fine me for that pen 15sucking cops.

i agree that as a whole i like cops, but those few gung ho pen 15s really irk me..... i wish most cops were like the ones in PORKY's..... authoritative, but understanding.....  hell if i was 17 and did that, all the cop would have to do was hassle me in front of my friends and i'd have gotten the message...  there's no need for petty fines just to make a point:flame:

Lol, I used to try to get pulled over in my town, just to start shiznit with a cop.  I wouldn't put a front plate on my car like it was my job, get pulled over by the same prick every time.  I had a rubber band noose with a pig lighter hanging from my rear view mirror and I would play "**** the police" by nwa every time(I WAS stupid, young and had money to kill).  It was until I got three tickets in a row that I would lose my license that I put the plate on, but not after hitting it with a hammer on gravel, putting one screw on, and upside down.  I hate cops that **** with people in town when there are meth labs all over the place.  **** stoopid cops.

Wow, what an ass. I haven't had problems around here with the cops. I've been eyed up and followed but not pulled over. The town I live in isn't even a mile long and we have 3 cops. They go ticket crazy. They'll pull you over if you are doing 28 in the 25mph zone. Its rediculous. I think speeding and running the red light are the only things they get you on though.

So after that eventful evening, 2 of my friends got followed, one got a warning for speeding, the other got his tag number ran. This cop just wanted to mess with me, so I fixed everything except for picking up my personalized plate because my tag expires at the end of this month. What a dick

One last thing to add, cops around here wait until the end of the month before they have to have quota turned in, so they go crazy to get caught up.

Thanks for the love, fellas..... Did you ever happen to think politeness counts when it comes to being stopped?  Oh and by the way there is no such thing as a quota......they'll let me write a sh$%load if I wanted to:raspberry

Respect them and they'll respect you, its pretty easy. If your driving beside one turn your music down, dont speed (more than they are) It may not always work 'cause some guys are just assholes.

I've only ever been pulled over once and it was at a roadblock because my car was "unsafe" he (a young guy) was just going to give me a warning and let me go, then the old guy wandered over and found shiznit to nit pick about and I ended up with 3 $110 tickets  Going to court for two of them eventually, probabally be another 6-8 months (this happened last summer)

I only was a little miffed at a cop once. I had to borrow my dad's truck to drive to school since the cougar was out of commission. It was only for one day but lucky for me I was rear-ended on my way there. Officer arrived and after getting everything straightened out told me he would have to give me a ticket. When I asked what for, he said that the emissions test was not completed on my dad's truck and that it is punishable to be driving a motor vehicle that is not emissions compliant. I explained to him that it wasn't my vehicle and I didn't know about it since I only needed to borrow it for one day. I got the usual, you know, go to court and fight it but he said he would talk to the judge to let him know it was my first offense and that the vehicle wasn't mine and so on. So I went to court and after getting lectured from the judge that I should know everything about a vehicle before borrowing it, I was given probation before judgement and paid the typical court costs and whatnot.

Now the officer was doing his job, I wasn't mad at that. He was very kind to work with and I was very cooperative with him. But what frustrated me was that he actually showed up for court. I was the only person he had to be there for. Meanwhile someone who was there for doing 70 in a 45mph zone and who I might add brought an attorney with them got let off because the officer didn't bother to show up. 7 people got off for various offences much worse than mine because they all were ticketed by the same cop who didn't show up. I was one of nearly 50 people in the court room and almost half of them were let off because the officers didn't show up. I just didn't think that was fair.

What I dont think is fair, is I have never been pulled over, I obey the law most of the time. When this guy pulled me over he could have said, "please clean your windows, and please turn down your stereo." But no he gave me a ticket for something I didnt do to my car, and had no time to clean it up until then.

I would think that situation like that would be considerd contempt of court, on the officer who wrote the tickets, then didn't appear himself...
I know around here, if you get a traffic ticket, and the cop who wrote doesn't appear (which almost never happens here, btw) the judge usually dismisses the case, with no fines to be paid, i think.

But I too, once used to harass the cops, follow them around, stupid stuff, and believe me, I paid dearly for it...
See a cop on duty, just leave his ass alone, lol

Most jurisdictions schedule court for when the officer is actually on duty due to the fact that if you call him or her in on a day off it's overtime.  If the officer is stuck on patrol on a call that he can not leave then the court will usually re-schedule the hearing.  A second time is usually a dismissal of the case.

hmmm i don't think anyone is right in this situation, but to take the cops side..... he could have stopped you for that anyway, said please clean the windows, they are considered an obstruction, and then let you on your way, but the playing of "bad boys" probably caused him to think you were the jerk, ESPECIALLY since you had your friends in there and were "showing off".... if he had just said stop it, he probably figured you'd high five your friends because you got away with it....  but that's taking his side......  either way, my favorite part of your quote is "i obey the law MOST of the time"... that seems to be the quote of the generation.... kind of like "if you aren't caught, you're not cheating"......  but i digress, sorry you had a bad night, i bet you won't play with "the man" again....

Don't **** with the cops.  I've only bitched at one cop in my life and I got a ticket, it was my fualt though.  Be nice to that cop, he is pissed off because he is underpaid and overworked.  Stepping up to your car window he may be shot, stabbed, maced or have some stupid slut make false claims of him coming on to her with a way for her to get out of her ticket.

I have many cop friends, its just there job.  Yeah they have the power to pull you over for anything.  And what you did, I would have pulled your ass over too.  That was stupid.

I've learned over the years that it's best to fly under thier radar and not be noticed at all. If I do happen to get pulled over it all "yes sir, no sir..." I'm Mr. Politeness, heheh... Sometimes they'll let me go and other times I'll get screwed but most of the time I had it coming anyway. And never ever get into a  match with a cop because you cant win... even if you're right.

... Oh yeah, call me a puss, but I do turn my music down around cops. I dont like to draw thier attention.

I've been driving for almost 6 years and I've only gotten pulled over and ticketed once and it was my fault. I did a BIG burnout and a cop caught me. I took the ticket and went to traffic safety school. If you're going to do something stupid you'll get caught and pay the price. Life isn't fair and s**t happens. It's not the end of the world.
