Title: 97 cougar flasher unit location?
Post by: mjwinslow on March 25, 2006, 02:37:04 PM
I am having a heck of a time finding my flasher unit to replace it.  The book I bought says "Just unplug it", and that it's "to the right of the steering column in a bracket" but for the life of me, I can't see it!  Any clues please?

It may be covered by a piece of trim, I'm not sure though, the newest Tbird/Cougar I've dealt with is a 94...
I'd try putting your head right by the pedals, then looking up under the dash with a small flashlight, and try to locate the flasher, hope this helps.

Are you sure you need to replace it?
If you're having problems with your turn signals, a very common trouble area is the MFS (multi-function switch).
It's fairly easy to replace/rebuild, as well.
