Title: Trunk Light Replacement Bulb?
Post by: mikeinnj on March 22, 2006, 05:44:48 PM
Hey, does anyone know the model number/bulb type of the bulbs used in the trunks of our 87-88 foxes? Mine burnt out, and the model number on the bulb is pretty much totally scratched off... I can sort of make out a "012", but that's it. Any help is appreciated!

The '87 owners manual calls for a #89, the '88 calls for a #98(not sure I've ever heard of it). I believe I have a 906 in my '88, which is  brighter than a 168 or 194.

You may have had a 912 it fits as well('88) and is really bright. Thats the same bulb as in the high mount stop lamp.

I have a 912 in mine as well, looks just like the ones in the third brake light.

I'd think that 168/194 bulbs wouldn't be bright enough. Hell, I don't think the 912 is quite bright enough..but that's just me.

Yep, now that I look at it under closer inspection, I can make out that it is indeed a 912 bulb. Now, I just gotta find a new one! Thanks everyone!
