I have mentioned my 53 Chevy project a few times. Well here is a picture of it with all of the chrome taken off. All parts are in the backseat and Im thinking of keepin the half moons. Dunno yet.

So far thinking. 350 drivetrain from a 72 c-10. Its a work in progress. My dads first car. Been in the family 30 years, mine now.
Beauty! (we really need a thumbs up smiley!) what happened to the original engine? just want more power? what are you doing with the interior?
I'm glad i'm not the only one around here with an old 50's 'clunker' :D
Keep the m00ns.... i wish i could find a set of baby moons for my bird...
Nice man. Lots of potential there. Good luck with it. What is your final plan on color, interior, etc?
YES!! Keep the moons!
Keep the moons. Without a doubt.
just another vote for keeping the half moons. those rock.
Well it has and is currently sitting. My dad took all of the chrome trim to rechrome, but never had it done, and it sits in the back seat in in a couple of totes. The straight six will be kept, for the reason that it is(like our cars) based on a vette. I have a 72 C-10 with a 350, TH350 sitting. That is a thought for now. I would love a 427 for it. Ultimately it will be a cruiser. Gloss Black with a silver top. IF I can find Bel Air trim for it, it will have a Tangerine Accent. I have a DUB CITY model of all things of this car. Thats how I decided Paint. I'll post a Pic of what I think it will end up looking like. I was thinking of going with Centerline Edge II, if I dont keep the moons for very long. Doesnt seem right to ditch them though.
Oh, interior. Im going to custom fab a gauge panel, Thinking of trying to save the Three on the tree. Keep the bench. Pretty much all stock, just reupholstered.
Also, while I was in Houston, TX. We parked right next to one. OH MY FRICKIN GOD. It was sooooooo nice. I got alot of pics too:D :tg: :tg: :tg: :tg: :tg: :tg: :ies: :idhitit:
Keeping it 3-on-the-tree would be awesome. Lets see some pics of what your paintjob will look like.
Keep it three on the tree, never have to worry about it being stolen :D
This is the model of the paint job. The second is the Tangerine I would paint the Slot in the Bel Air trim IF I can locate it.

The moons are cool if you are keeping the WWW on the car. Now if you are going black wall look into a set of smoothies (http://"http://www.mooneyesusa.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=385") from moon eyes equpment.

The red Bel Air isnt my car. Im going with raised white letters like in the pic I have of it.

Well as soon as spring starts, the 86 will get some engine treatment, new exhaust, those hubcaps I got for free, and maybe a paint job. Then Its time to decide whether Im keeping it, or selling it to put rims, exhaust on my 84, and work on my 53. We'll see how things go. Thanks for the support considering its not a Ford product.
