Does anyone have pics of a H-pipe installed on their 5.0 Cougar. Every shop in my town laughs at me :giggle: when I tell then an H-pipe( x-pipe or even custom dual exhaust) can fit safely on my 88 Cougar Xr-7. I would greatly appreciate some pics if anyone has them stored somewhere. I tryed to tell these guys that's a buch of :bs: but I don't have any proof.
MAC 2.5" Mustang H-Pipe with cats on my Bird. And to the dumbasses at the shop..."No, it didn't need mods to fit". Keep in mind you will need a double hump tranny crossmember from a Mustang.

The 88 Cougar and the 88 Bird in the garage both came with double hump cross members. The Cougar had a Mac offroad H with a cat back 2.5 that came on a 86 Lincoln LSC I got as a parts car. It now has a Mustang Cat 2.5 H. My son ran over a 18 wheel mud flap bracket at 70 mph and with the car lowered 3 in. it wedged in the H and bent it.
Well, I have a 5.0 T-bird and it fit perfectly, the hanger above the tranny x-member even had 2 holes for the L-shaped pipe hangers. And this was a cheapy Summit Off-road piece at $109!
