Post by: amooset on March 19, 2006, 09:20:37 PM
Saw this fine piece of work while out bar hopping last night.  Ain't she a beauty? I wish I could roll on wheels that huge! Seen it around town for awhile, but never got a picture until now.  Ya think I need to get some phat dope mad wheels like that?

That is the stupidest looking thing I have ever seen...
But at least it wasn't done to a Thunderbird or Cougar.
Last summer, while at a friend's house, in the bad part of town, across the street, at a residence where some people with rather bad habits tend to frequent (if ya get what I'm saying) was a car with some people from a rather big city about 110 miles away on a "business deal"...
It was a '78 or '79 Tbird rolling on like 22-25" wheels, looked about like that poor Old Gutless above, I laughed and laughed, and still do when I visualize that car...

Personally, I think 17" or 18" wheels are too big...but that's me.

I dunno, some black dude.  That narrows it down a decent amount around here, I'm friends with one and that's probably 10 percent of the black people here, lol.

Hey, you get out drinking very often?  We should hang out sometime, sober or otherwise hahaha.

This is my rule for rims, If you have to lift the car to make clearance for the rim you dont need that rim.If you think 17-18 are too big now you really should not buy a new car both my Fathers and brothers focus' came with 17's stock.

Hey is that bumper within hight standards?
Because I know if I had a truck that had bumpers that high it would be an instant ticket.

There was a kid over here that had his early 80's Chevy Caprice with spray can white for paint mixed with rust jacked up on 24's.  He had it for sale in his driveway and every time I passed it I marveled out how ridiculous those rims looked with the stock brakes on the car.  He wound up having to throw some stock size rims back on the car to get it to sell.  Thankfully that fad has not really caught on up here.  I've seen a couple and they always seem to be on early 80's GM cars.

Might as well be a 4x4 with that height.  Make use of the ground clearance.

I thought it was one of those 4x4's when I was driving behind it.  Then I pulled up next to it to see the wheels, and the driver, white, staring down at me (probably because I had some Manson turned up to an unhealthy level).

As far as drinking, yep, sure do, but not in bars! ;)

Same here, my rule for rims is that if it raises the ride height/ground clearance in any way  its gay! So if you must give the car a 6" suspension lift and a 4" body lift for the wheels to fit thats just EXTREMELY GAY!!!

I was hoping we wouldn't have that kind of weenie up here in the Great White North, but then an otherwise mint-looking Buick Grand National pulled into the station. Not as bad as yours... only a foot or so off the ground.

I guess the pendulum has swung; if we're going to laugh at their big cars lowered to the ground with gold 500-spoke wheels and 125/85-12 tires, then they'll switch to the 4x4 Hot Wheels look.
