Today while I was watching Mother's Carshow presented on ESPN 2 they featured a 86 cougar (If i remember right). The host showed how that the owner fabricated a new steel header panel to house the headlights, new grill, and the custom hood. A few engine mods and body mods too. But the owner still drove the car as a daily driver. The host also complimented about the body lines and the way the cougar looked.
I thought it was awesome that finally a car show, show, would actually stop and take a look at a cougar and even give it air time. PLUS give cougs all the compliments that they did.
Rather cool and hopefully to see more like that in the future.
i saw it too and the guy chopped it 3 inches too and it was an 83(it was a 4 eye) cuz I was excited too when i saw it I liked seeing it but I really didn't like the front end.
also did you get the feeling that GM must've been a big sponsor of that show? seemed almost everything they looked at was a bowtie of some sort
cougars were four eyed from '83 - '86, so it was the same body style no matter which year it was. wish I seen the show.:(
Yah actually in the beginning it was a CHEVY show. So I decided to take a nap since I just worked a bunch that day. Fell asleep for about 10 minutes and my Dad was like "STEVE WATCH THAT SHOW FAST"
and so I guess they just decided to throw a cougar in the mix....???
some AV weenie doing the editing prolly had no idea what a cougar was..
