I need to replace the driver's side door speaker. I am wondering if I have to remove the entire door panel or if I can just remove the plastic speaker grill from the door panel. It does appear that someone else attempted to pull the plastic grill from the panel and broke a plastic stud going into the door panel. I want to avoid doing anymore damage.
Easier to pull the whole panel. I wouldn't even know how to take that grill off. I think it's glued on.
It depends on they type of door panel you have. If they're the base panels, pull the whole thing off. If they've got removable grills and map pockets, you can take the just the grills off.
It does appear to have the map pockets and there are plastic grills over the door speakers that appear to be removable. What concerned me was that someone appears to have already broken a plastic peg holding the grill to the panel. I just want to make sure these grills aren't screwed into the panel from the back side.
Okay does your door panel look like the one in this picture?

If it does then your speaker grills can be removed. If not, then you have to take off the entire door panel in order to remove the speaker.
Nope, mine looks different. Guess I'll be removing the entire panel. Thanks.
