so one of my room mates was watching the news and saw that there was a factory here in the town that i live in burning. so of course we decided to go down and see how close we could get. we got there in time to see some of the walls fall in. it was awsome.

I bet it's not awesome for people who worked there (if it was still open, that is).  I can understand, though.  There's few things I'd love to see more than a controlled explosive demolition of a building.

Ahhh, nevermind then.  They're knocking down the old Eljer Plumbing plant in my town.  It's a neat thing to see.

It is cool to watch the fire department burn down a building.
It's more fun though to watch a building get destroyed by one of those big demolition balls. I watched an old hospital go that way. My aunt took me to her office which was right across the street from where they were tearing down part of this old hospital. I watched an old porcelain tub fall from the 17th floor and smash into a million pieces, it was awesome.

Few years back Walmart bought the old power plant here and blew it up. The closest you could get was accross the river in one of the parking decks.

It was pretty cool watching it.

Also not to far from me we have a Fire training camp where they set fires inside a cinderblock building. That is also cool.

not sure if you guys remember this at all as im not sure how much coverage it actually got outside of new englend. im pretty sure it was national news though. very tragic. when the worcester cold storage building burnt down years ago. 6 fire fighters died in this fire. they were searching for a homeless woman that somebody said was living in the building. it was directly across the machine shop i was working in at the time. we were on the 7th floor so you could realy see what was going on.

i also remember a huge fire at a papermills storage building a quarter mile away from my house burning down. all thats left now is the old watter tower and the newer section of the building that they mannaged to salvage.

when i was working at a cabinet shop another factory burned down a few streets away. it was right next to the highway and closed both lanes down.
