-ive seen this car sitting on the side of the road for about a year now. ok since winter came and killed off the weeds over it. saw it had a viynal roof with an emblem on it and thought it might be a blue max edition, so finally with new camera in tow i stopped yesterday to get some pictures. the owner of the property lived to the right of the pictures and was outside. i asked permission to look it over and take pictures, he said something and disappeared. i thought ok, next thing i know im snapping the pictures and hes coming at me telling me to leave!! so i got these pictures and thats it. didnt have time to check the model year or anything. thought maybe eric might know......

Wow, that was a nice car.... What is wrong with people?!
It's an '86..but that's all I got......
It looks to be an '86 LS with the aftermarket MX Brougham package. Actually I think there were several different MX packages available because, as we all know, aftermarket companies can't stop at just one fake vinyl roof. ;) But that side window treatment...I don't recall seeing that before, at least not up close like that. It's like a metal insert...strange. Can you tell if the door panels were the Turbo Coupe (aka "high" series) style? It sort of looks like that passenger side one is.
Anyway, I'm glad the dude didn't take any shots at ya. :D
almost looks like a dealer tag of some sort. Like one of those cheesy autohole badges.
And I thought the light up cougar heads didnt' make it to 86?
Yeah, surely a good thing he didn't come at you with a gun. Some people are so ignorant. I've seen many "abandoned" (meaning tagless and sitting in weeds) Cougars and T-Birds. Most are in pretty decent shape. If I wasn't afraid of the hillbilly who owns them, I'd check them out.
Redneck was gonna drop the Bro-Hammer on ya!
:rollin: :sawzall:
-for anyone interested, i would stop back by to try to find out more, and any info needed. there is like 20-30 more cars/trucks of various kinds around and a car on a 4wd frame across the road. so you can tell it's a upstanding place....
Sounds like a place where a gun lives...
Good Lord.
That car should be titled in the state of disrepair.
One thing that also is interesting. Wasn't that steering wheel only available on the '83-'84?
That steering wheel was 1984-86 GS and LS and was known as the "A-frame" wheel. The 1983's had that square center....there was also a 4-spoke sport wheel in 1983-84, and the 2-spoke sport from 1985-88, for the turbo cars.
sad sad
Did it look something like this place? Pic1 (http://"http://ca.geocities.com/tbrd_guy/gregsplace.JPG") Pic2 (http://"http://ca.geocities.com/tbrd_guy/gregsplace2.JPG") Had about 26 vehicles, a camper, three ski-doos, one quad, and three motorcycles surrounding the trailer. And yes his gun collection outnumbered his vehicles, nice guy though. anyone wana buy one? I can get 'em cheep :D
I had that wheel in my '85 'Bird. Most ed uncomfortable wheel I ever had. I think the thing gave me carpal tunnel syndrome...
I'll keep my leather wraped LX wheel :D (no it doesn't leak black goo:D )
Lol here in AZ, you pretty much just throw a cloth cover on your steering wheel and call it good. Any leather wrapped, plastic coated, rubberized, etc... type of steering wheel is garunteed to force you to learn how to drive with a thumb or one finger. They just get soo darned hot.
