That's creepy - it's like seeing my dash in a Mustang!

If our dash's will bolt right into a 'Stang why doesn't it work the other way around...just curious.

Cougar dash?  I didn't think digi clusters got systems sentry?  Also why is there a prem. fuel switch and a ride controll switch.

Also the console fits like  and why does it have a clutch pedal?

I am diging the systems sentry up high like that.  Kind of where the mn12's put it.

It's called interchange - mix & match. This guy want's ALL the cool stuff and he want's it located where he wants it. I wonder how much of that stuff actually works?

Interesting. I'm surprised he stayed with the fake wood stuff. If my car had that , it'd be the first thing to go.

Should I take the fake wood out of my 20th Anniversary Cougar?

Oh, I changed it to real wood - should I take the real wood out?

Seriously, real wood?  Haven't seen that, have any pictures?

It looks pretty strange.  I like our car's dashboards, but not enough to go through the trouble of putting it in another car.  Whatever, to each their own.

I guess I'll have to mutilate one of the few 20th Anniversary Cougars left because Cougar lovers don't like the way this special edition was designed. Who knew?

I actually love the fake wood - it's one of those cool things about this car that makes it more unique...

Well, I wouldn't change it in a 20th. I'm not a fan of the wood pattern but would definitely make an exception for one of those cars.

I absolutely love the pattern that's in my car. It's so cool in it's 80's styling. I'm sure not everyone likes it but I just think woodgrain in most cars interiors is cheesy.

Cougar5.0, you put real wood in there? That could be pretty cool. Pics?

Well, I have a Real Wood kit I bought off of Ebay but I haven't installed it yet. I may or may not install it - it's not a perfect looking kit by any stretch...

I've got the fake wood dash, I wouldn't change it for anything.

Let's see now... the aftermarket is absolutely flooded with dash parts for 87-93 Mustangs. Clusters, s, gauge mounts - anything you'd ever want in a car dash you can get for a Mustang.

85-88 T-Birds and Cougars, however, have absolutely no aftermarket support other than an Indiglo gauge kit or two, and even they are only available for 85MPH speedos or base digital clusters. Not only that, but we can't even get stock replacement parts for our dahses when something breaks.

As much as I like the styling of the 85-88 dash (and indeed, I even contemplated it when I was thinking about buying a 4-cyl Mustang convertible to drop my 2.3t into), I think installing one in a Mustang is a step backward. Hell, I'd rather install a Mustang dash, either Fox or SN95, into my car - at least I'd have some aftermarket choices...

Y'all remember RPM Overlays (http://"http://www.gt350mustang.com/wfg/wfg.html")? This guy (Mark) is the owner. He'd told me about this setup but I never saw it until now. Considering he had the very bland pre-1987 dash in that car originally, this dash is a huge upgrade. I applaud the fact that he got all the functions of the cluster to work. The dash does look a little out of place but whatever...to each his own...

I would swap to a Mustang dash in a heartbeat. More stuff avalible and the top of the dash doesn't crack.

Here's what I did with the woodgrain in my 20th, I used color changing paint:D . It almost matches the outside perfectly. Never really got into woodgrain trim, of course my 20th isn't show quality:hick: .

Well, that dash brought back some memories Cougarman. I painted the dash in my 85 T-bird Duplicolor Hi-temp silver. It looked good back then, but I would cut aluminum in lays for it now if I had it.

What year is the cluster from??

Probably available '85-'88, but I'm not sure.  It's the same cluster (full digital) my '87 LS has.

Looks just like my dash.......
I may have a project in  the works.  I know where there is a wrecked '95 Mustang Cobra with a good dash.  Anyone know how much of a difference width-wise there is between the two?

My one question about this whole thing is "Why?" Our dashes are hardly anything to get excited about.  I'd swap a 97's dash in long before I'd do something like ours.  *ugh*

My guess would be because the dude with the Mustang wanted to.

I've always liked my full digital dash. I think it makes the car just a little more unique plus everyone who gets in my car for the first time thinks it's the neatest thing they've ever seen;)

Me too.  I have had a V8 buttstuffog cluster sitting on a shelf in the garage for a few years now and I just can't bring myself to install it.  There's just something about the full digital cluster that has a sort of an 80s high tech cool vibe.

Yep, it's called spinach green :giggle:

I thought about swapping my digital for buttstuffog but the digital is too cool. The tach is awesome as is the trip computer.

Man I've got a digi cluster laying in the garage.  I wanted to install it but I went with the buttstuffog.  i would love to have one.

Also, maybe 83 heritage would post some pics of his true old skool dash, I love that thing.
