Lately I have had a little money trouble. Car payments and insurance. You know the schpeel. Once I se the $100 I still owe on the 86, I know your thinking how I havent paid off 300 yet. Ive been working with these guys to slowly pay it off so I have enough for payments on my Escape. Well lately I balanced my checkbook and noticed a little change and loss of money. So Im deliberating, once I get my tax returns and pay off the other Cougar.
If Im going to keep the 86 and work on it, or sell it and FINALLY get to work on my 53 chevy. Chevy I know, it was my dads first car, and I love it.
Let me know what you think, I'll get some more pics of the Black Cougar here soon.
hell if ya lived closer and do end up selling the coug id get it from ya just for a parts cougar. since i do need a ton of body parts. but im having a hard time with cash too dude. and now im just getting all the parts i need for my exhaust. i still need the catback system also all the hardware. so im still not done. and i have 150 left to get it all. so yeah im having a tough time.
I think it would be more expensive to restore a '53 Chevy than an '86Cougar and that the '53 would probably never get done (or even really started that much) until you got a reliable source of EXTRA income to spend on the restoration.
As long as you have the Escape to drive I would sell off the Cougar for whatever you could get and then wait until I had that aforementioned income source before tearing into the Chevy. What kind of condition is it in right now?
Hey Nathan keep me in mind if you do sell your black one we dont live too far from each other. I'd even let you buy it back after a while if you wanted.
Thanks Graham, might have to keep that in mind.
jkirchman: It has very little surface rust, all of the chrome trim is in the backseat. My dad was in the process of having it all rechromed, but parked it and hasn't touched it since he got his Chevelle. He gave it to me when I was 15, I have had no way of towing it home. It has an inline 6, which I have a running 350 and trans waiting to be swapped. If I could get the motor swap done cheaply, then There is no real thing I would do yet until I got to college and repaint it in the Auto Body classes Im taking.
Cougar8775: I dont know if I could let it go and be parted, It was a hell of a deal and there are no real imperfections. It has 190,000 miles and burns alittle oil, the clear is peeling, but Whichever way I decide to deal with this you guys will be first to know.
my grandma told me, money comes and money goes. so don't worry about the money, just what's important too you... find a way to keep it all and don't worry about the money. Just don't sell crack, cause that's not a legit job... be legit when making money cause it'll cause less problems later. The end.
