Title: Finally, got the cougar running again...
Post by: MexCougar on February 28, 2006, 12:55:21 AM
Yesterday i bought a new carb for the cougar (i´m searching for the fender but still no luck) and i installed it. The car fired up right, and i waited to get the engine to normal temp. I put the car in Drive and the engine sputters and dies. If i left the car in P or Neutral, the idle seems correct, but if i put in Reverse or Drive, it dies if i not acelerate the engine. The idle was adjusted. What would be ? there are other parameters to adjust in a new carb (yes , there are, but which ?)
Yeah, the carb is the old 2150V

You are incorrect.  86 and prior have a lip above the trim that is not there on 87 and 88's.
