Hello again!
Now I have a wierd thing. Today while I was waxing my T-bird I noticed that the hood is kinda lifted up on the passenger side at the hinge. It was always kinda lower there, and I haven't done anything with the hood alignment. Seems like it lifted up itself! All the bolts are tight, everything is covered with dust there so it's easy to notice a bolt has moved.
Do you have any idea of what happened?
Thanks!

somebody sit on the fender maybe?...the hoods are heavy, maybe it jot tweaked somehow.....? kind of weird if there was no insedent with the car....
Mine is the same way. It sticks up on the passenger side. I can push it down flat when I park but as soon as I drive it will pop back up again. annoying. I tried adjusting the hinge but I cant get it to stay flush with the fender. Maybe I need to have a body man look at it...
Strange thing is that as I remember well, the hinge used to let the hood go deeper and rest on that partial rubber seal mounted on the fender. Now the hinge blocks before the hood reaches the seals. I thought that maybe I should oil the hinges, but it didn't help. Something must be wrong with the hinge.
There is some kind of adjusting screw on the hinge, but it was never touching the space where it should rest as it does on the drivers side. I can't find out why it doesn't work as it should. Hope there's somebody who may know what went wrong?
I'm sure the fender isn't bent. It's about the hood and hinge in my opinion.
The problem is that I can't track how the hood hinge actually works. Maybe somebody has a drawing showing how it moves?
WD-40 or some kind of other lube.
i dont know just a try
Seems more plausible. The hood looks even with the fender albeit slightly higher. I've adjusted my hinges and they seem to do mre at the back towards the windowand almost nothing up front. Also check the hood stops up front. The rubber grommet on the top is removeable and may have partially dislodged hence pushing the hood up slightly.
if nothing else maybe shim up the fender?
check the rubber blocks along the sides or the weather strip at the back are all in place, I recently had the weather strip along the firewall get nudged off a bit on a clients car, not even noticeably but once the hood was closed it sat a good 1/4" higher than normal
I don't know about these cars as I've never seen a hood do that on one, but I do know that when it does that on a 2'nd generation Firebird it means the hinges are worn out - the springs are pushing the hood up against the slop in the pivot points. Both of my Firebirds did that - the first one was so bad it looked like ghetto cowl induction
that makes sense.....
